00:00You have Sophie Cunningham, and I think we have a latnation.com story.
00:05It's una peligrosa esa, Sophie Cunningham.
00:07She's a bum peligrosa.
00:08Let's talk about it, my friends.
00:10So Sophie Cunningham is going to be the hottest free agent this year,
00:13and one of the reasons that she's the hottest free agent
00:15has a lot to do with the fact that she's a controversial player.
00:19So one of the biggest reasons why the WNBA is so popular this year
00:23is a lot of the controversies.
00:25We talked about Caitlin Clark and some of the race-baiting issues
00:27with some of the other players that are fouling her hard,
00:30but also Sophie Cunningham has waded into the waters of the trans debate
00:34whether trans women should be playing in women's sports.
00:36Now, I'm not getting into that conversation.
00:39I'll leave that for other people.
00:41Two straight guys do not have to get into that conversation.
00:43There's so many shows here in Latination that deal with that.
00:45That do that.
00:46We deal with the sport, the stats, and the culture.
00:48But we can make the observation that the controversial topics
00:52have brought eyeballs to the WNBA.
00:54Now, they've gotten so popular this year
00:56that they moved the finals.
00:58The Atlanta team made the finals.
01:00They moved the finals from their 3,000-seat arena
01:02to the Atlanta Hawks arena that sees 20,000.
01:04So, look, if the result is more popularity,
01:07I think that we should applaud that.
01:08I can name a bunch of WNBA players for the first time in my life.
01:11I'm paying attention.
01:12We're looking at the graphics.
01:13Sold out.
01:14Every drop of sneakers from the WNBA players
01:17have been selling out the same day.
01:20The Cunningham, the Caitlin Clarks,
01:23all of these, the popularity is amazing.
01:26I'm very happy to see that women's sports
01:27are growing in every direction.
01:29But, like you said,
01:30with the increased visibility,
01:34also a lot of hate,
01:36a lot of chisme,
01:37a lot of eyeballs.
01:37And we're learning a lot about
01:38how controversy brings more eyeballs
01:40here at Latination.
01:41Yes, yes, yes, we do.
