00:00Speaking of good seasons, the Maryland governor, Wes Moore,
00:03continues to make picks and nail them.
00:05Hello, Governor.
00:06How do you do?
00:07Man, I'm all right.
00:09How y'all doing?
00:09We're good, man.
00:10Dude, how excited were you for Snoop Huntley to go down to Atlanta
00:14and win that game, Lamar's backup?
00:16You had to enjoy that.
00:18Yo, that felt so good.
00:20And also because I think, honestly,
00:23if I were to rank all my trash-talking friends,
00:26the Atlanta fans, my friends who are Atlanta fans,
00:30are in the top five.
00:31Really?
00:31So they are so deeply annoying.
00:33And watching them lose on their home field with our backup quarterback,
00:39yo, that felt so good.
00:40That felt so good.
00:42But I ain't going to lie.
00:43But I got to tell you something, and I told him this,
00:46is I actually think that Snoop might be a top,
00:50I call it top seven backup quarterback in the NFL.
00:56He's been there a while.
00:58And I say it for this reason, and it's a couple of reasons, right?
01:01One is you don't have to change your offense with him.
01:04Because oftentimes you see it, and frankly, the commanders are like this,
01:07where the starter is a very different type of quarterback than the backup,
01:12and so you just can't run the same offense.
01:15You have to do adjustments.
01:16And with Snoop, he is similar enough to Lamar that you don't have to change
01:21your offense.
01:22The second thing about Snoop is Snoop understands the number one job of a
01:26backup quarterback is you don't have to win the game.
01:28Just don't lose it.
01:30And he does that really, really well.
01:33And unlike people like, you know, Jameis Winston and all that kind of stuff
01:36where you just never know what you're going to get with him.
01:38Totally.
01:39Snoop doesn't make mistakes in the same way.
01:41And so it was a great win.
01:43Yeah, he plays clean.
01:44Unlike Tua, the Falcons backup, who comes in and immediately throws a pick.
01:50Exactly.
01:51Like, that is exactly what you don't want.
01:53Right.
01:54Yeah, right, right.
01:55Trying to do too much.
01:56Exactly what you don't want.
01:57Well, Gov, why don't we start there?
01:58I mean, there's still some quarterback questions going into this week for
02:02Baltimore.
02:03Last week was a big week for you.
02:04You're over .500 on the season, 15-14-1, 140-88 all-time making picks with us.
02:11Your Ravens going to Cleveland for a resurgent Browns team.
02:15We don't know if it's going to be Lamar or Snoop again.
02:18What do you think Ravens-Browns?
02:21So, let me first say, the Browns are actually surprising.
02:25And the Browns are playing better football than I thought they would play.
02:31Everyone always went and thought that the Browns would, again, be the laughingstock.
02:34And the biggest question was, how many weeks would Deshaun Watson have before he
02:39gets yanked?
02:40That's not the narrative in Cleveland right now.
02:42And their defense is playing better than expected.
02:46So, it's a division game.
02:49Division games are always a fight.
02:51Division games on the road are always a fight.
02:54But I, A, have confidence that Lamar is going to be in there.
02:58But even if it is Snoop, I would actually argue that I'd rather have Snoop than any of the
03:04Browns quarterbacks anyway.
03:06So, I'm going with the Ravens on this one.
03:09I do think this is going to be a real game, though.
03:12Because, again, division games are always funky.
03:15And the Browns are playing better football than I think any of us would have expected.
03:20But I think our guys pull it off.
03:22All right.
03:22Well, we're going to look at the battle of the Panthers and the Eagles.
03:28Jalen Hurts probably is not going to be playing.
03:30Speaking of backup quarterbacks.
03:30Talking about another backup quarterback.
03:32Tanner McKee.
03:32Tanner McKee, because he has a blood clot that we are praying for him.
03:36But what do you think happened in that game, Panthers-Eagles?
03:39We are praying for him.
03:40Because I've got to tell you, man, the more I've been reading into this, like, you know,
03:44that's a real scary situation for Jalen.
03:48So, you know, we're praying for his health.
03:52And I think both them Eagles fans, they're praying as well.
03:57Because I don't think this is going to go well for the Eagles.
04:01I'm taking Carolina.
04:03But not just because I think the Eagles are hitting a tough patch right now.
04:09It's also what the Panthers are actually starting to make me a believer on this.
04:14I mean, you know, when you look at...
04:15Bryce Young's been excellent.
04:17I mean, look at what he did against Detroit.
04:19I mean, dude threw for, like, 330 yards.
04:23And, by the way, again, 330 and didn't throw a pick.
04:26That's the thing.
04:27He's not giving the game away.
04:29And when you're looking at kind of that combination that he has right now,
04:33he's talking about 70% accuracy on his passes.
04:36Like, he's actually really playing well.
04:38And I think you combine that with, you know, the fact that Carolina's actually really putting up points.
04:46You know, you combine it with a defense that's actually looking stingier.
04:50And the Eagles team that's hurt.
04:52You know, I think that the Panthers go and take this one on the road.
04:57I like that one, Gov.
04:59That takes a little guts to make that call.
05:01But I like that call.
05:03Well, keeping it in the NFC East, this is obviously a big one Sunday night.
05:09Dallas, Green Bay, in Lambeau.
05:12So, this is, I tell you, this is actually going to be a really wild game.
05:16But the only thing I'll say is I watched both of them play last week.
05:21And that's the reason I'm going with the Packers.
05:24They looked good last week.
05:26They, I mean, they didn't look good.
05:29They look great.
05:30And they, and listen, I don't think Chicago is as bad as they were last week.
05:36I think that Green Bay just played a really good game.
05:38Now, the challenge of Green Bay always is, is what Green Bay team you're going to get.
05:43Like, Jordan Love sometimes will do what he did last week, which is, I mean, like, I mean, I think
05:47he barely, barely, I mean, he was almost perfect.
05:51Touched, you know, I think he had two touchdowns, almost 400 yards.
05:54I mean, like, he played great.
05:55Jordan Love doesn't always give you that.
05:57And that's the challenge with Jordan Love.
05:59But when you look at what they were able to do, what they were able to do last week against
06:04a, against a Bears team that had every emotional and division other reason to play better than they played last
06:12week.
06:12And you look at what the Cowboys have done these past couple weeks where the Cowboys have just shown a
06:18complete inability to put together, to put together a complete game.
06:22I think the Packers go and, and, and win this thing.
06:25I think the Cowboys can make them competitive.
06:27But I like the Packers on being able to build off of what they did last week, which was really
06:31impressive.
06:32All right.
06:32We got a game up in New York.
06:33We got the Giants who were jumping around because they got the tie.
06:36They should have lost that game.
06:37Saints going up to play against them.
06:39Who wins that game?
06:41Yo.
06:42We haven't asked you about the tie.
06:44Yeah.
06:45And that's a whole nother thing.
06:46That tie was so crazy.
06:48I'm, I was literally watching it and screaming at the television.
06:53Like, what are you doing?
06:55The clock is right.
06:57It was so crazy.
06:57But can I say maybe the funniest thing about the whole thing is my guy, Jameis Winston.
07:02He is always worth a good quote because after the game, when he got up and they asked him about
07:08it and he was like, you know, I'm just so, I just, I'm, I'm, I'm thankful that my team was
07:13able to persevere.
07:15Y'all, y'all, you tied.
07:16You didn't, you didn't, what, what persevere are you, are you talking about?
07:22And then you tied because the other team blew it.
07:26It's not like, it's not like y'all had to come from behind.
07:29I'm like, you tied.
07:30But that's Jameis Winston.
07:32Yeah.
07:33But, but, but that, that being said, I'm, I'm still going with the Giants on this one.
07:39You know, I, I think that when you're looking at, when you're looking at a Giants team who just has,
07:46who, who have kind of figured out a way when after Jackson Dart went out, I was just like, oh,
07:51this is going to be, this is going to be ugly and it's going to be bad.
07:53But I actually think Harbaugh is, is, is really actually coaching, is doing a good job of coaching this year
08:00and has really brought the team together.
08:02I think Scadaboo is actually playing and, and actually, you know, putting up yards in a, in a way that
08:08is, is, is interesting.
08:09And I think Jameis Winston, you know, as much as I love him in post-game interviews, you know, he's
08:14actually, he's actually, you know, you know, holding down the court during this time.
08:18So I think the Saints are still inconsistent.
08:20I go with the Giants on the road on this one.
08:23And I know, I think that's another, I'm predicting another upset on that one, but, but, you know, I think
08:28the Giants pulled off.
08:29Yeah.
08:29I mean, Vegas has that as kind of a coin flip.
08:32And I think that that game might be in Jersey, actually.
08:35Yeah.
08:36Oh, yeah.
08:36Well, yeah.
08:37Even better for your pick.
08:38Yeah.
08:40Tough, tough sledding here in Ashburn, Gov.
08:44Well, obviously Washington really needed a win.
08:46They got a tie, really disappointing finish to that game.
08:49And now they're on the road for Monday night football against arguably the best team in football, the San Francisco
08:5549ers.
08:57What do you make of this?
08:59Yeah.
09:00This is going to be tough.
09:02This is going to be tough.
09:04You know, also because I still think there is a, there's a psychological hit that the team took last week
09:13that you needed that win.
09:16That was a division game and, and, and the division game that you had the, you know, the win was
09:23right there.
09:24And, and, and, and unfortunately we saw this with the Eagles about a, you know, about a year ago where,
09:31where there was this period where a lot of the conversation during the week starts going into mental mistakes and
09:38coaching and all that kind of stuff.
09:40So that's never healthy for the team when that's kind of a cloud that sits over, that's sitting over the,
09:45over the locker room.
09:46Um, now I was actually very happy to see how, um, how Jaden played in this first game back.
09:52We talked about it last week where I was a little nervous just psychologically, uh, how you come back from
09:56an injury like that.
09:57And, and I think that he did it and performed very well.
10:00Um, I just think going against the Niners on Monday night after coming after last week and after the way
10:07that the Niners have been playing is just, um, it's just, it's just, it's just really tough.
10:12I, I think you got, you know, the league does not seem to have an answer for, for not just
10:18Purdy, but the multiple offensive weapons that he now has and that he's utilizing.
10:24So, um, I, I, I, this is going to be a tough one from the commanders.
10:27I think the Niners want it.
10:28Yeah.
10:29I think most folks are going to see it that way.
10:31That's why they play the games.
10:32We'll, we'll see what shakes out.
10:34Um, God, we always appreciate you making time for us, sir.
10:37Also, we got your buddy, Seth Hurwitz joining us in about an hour.
10:41Hey, there we go.
10:43There we go.
10:44Give them hell.
10:46We'll do, man.
10:47Um, governor, thank you for the time.
10:48As always, I don't know if you heard me earlier.
10:51Uh, I told B Mitch, you know, a lot of people are going to lay the seven and a half
10:54with the Niners going into the commanders game.
10:58I, I was almost unaware that you're even up for reelection, whatever the point spread is here, sir.
11:03I think I'm going to lay the points.
11:07So good luck.
11:08I'm kind of with y'all, but I need people to come out.
11:12That's why they play the games, man.
11:14You still got to finish.
11:15That's why we play the game.
11:16That's why we play the game.
11:18Thank you, governor.
11:19All right, gov.
11:20Take care, brother.
11:20I appreciate y'all.
11:21All right, man.
11:22That's our guy, Maryland Governor Wes Moore.
11:26Picks are in.
11:27He's going Ravens, Panthers, Packers, Giants, Niners.
11:31There'll be some good results there for the commanders.
11:33If they can get a win, this NFC East is still wide open.
11:36It's wide open, dog.
11:37You're listening to B. Mitch and Finley.
