00:00Let's take you to the northeast where fall foliage is on display in a big way here in southwest Virginia.
00:06This is Hidden Valley Lake, Virginia. Beautiful out there.
00:09Very nice. Billy Bowling never disappoints here with some of his drone videography.
00:13And we are dealing with some disruptive thunderstorms in the northeast right now.
00:18In fact, the greatest risk, and the worst of these that we've been tracking,
00:22are moving east through eastern Pennsylvania, north Jersey, into parts of upstate New York.
00:27At least, well, maybe we could say almost downstate New York.
00:30I know people say that anything north of the city is upstate,
00:33but here we are into the Catskills and areas like the Hudson Valley.
00:36Also, northeast Maryland and northern Delaware facing a more significant risk here with damaging wind
00:41and also isolated tornado threats.
00:43We've seen a few areas of transient rotation at times.
00:47Video editor Caleb Stewart out and about with some beautiful shots there in Center County, PA,
00:52near the AccuWeather headquarters.
00:54And you can see that wind is our main concern here.
00:56Eastern PA, northern New Jersey, and into the southern Catskills for this evening
01:00and the late part of the afternoon.
01:02So we're watching these storms as they plow east.
01:05Damaging winds are the main concern.
01:06And as we watch deeper into the night, look at this, 7 a.m. early tomorrow morning.
01:10A little bit of blue on the map if you look for it in parts of the Catskills,
01:13even into the extreme high elevations of eastern West Virginia, perhaps a few wet snowflakes.
01:18We're not going to see much of an impact from that unless you're way up on top of Mount Washington.
01:22But then we turn drier.
01:24And we'll be watching as the front gets hung up and the rain never really goes away from the western
01:30Atlantic.
01:30And look at this, a developing coastal storm sets up for early next week.
01:34That'll become a big story as well.
01:36So many areas here in the plains are under freeze warnings.
01:39Looking ahead to Saturday night and Sunday morning, we're still a day out from this.
01:45Freeze watches are being issued now.
01:47South Central Connecticut, North Jersey, most of Pennsylvania, all the way down into western North Carolina,
01:52all of Ohio except for maybe one or two spots down near Ironton.
01:57And overall, the other areas that we're facing to the north here where you don't see those alerts.
02:02Well, the growing season has ended in some of the high ground of the Adirondacks.
02:05Windy and colder, some fleeting flakes in the high ground of the northern part of New York
02:10and up into the New England states, the Green and White Mountains up into Maine as well.
02:13Saturday, some rain and snow showers.
02:15Windy and colder here across much of the area.
02:18And Sunday, we turn dry and bright.
02:20Cold start, pleasant afternoon.
02:22And then we'll begin to watch this coastal storm developing and lurking offshore.
02:28It's going to take a little bit of time for the front to roll in and stall,
02:32but we'll be watching low pressure to organize, and it'll be spinning its wheels early next week,
02:36flinging some rain to the mid-Atlantic coast.
02:38Beautiful and dry inland, but this is going to be a problem for coastal areas again, not just the rain.
02:44The greater impact will be in the form of coastal flooding once again.
02:48I feel like we've been here before.
02:50It may not be as bad as the nor'easter to the north,
02:52but it will be impactful with big wave heights as well.
