00:00The Oklahoma Sooners are sitting six and a half here against the Kentucky Wildcats.
00:05How does this happen?
00:09Well, think about what was believed of these teams coming into the year.
00:16OU was a top 10 team in the country.
00:20Kentucky, well, certainly not.
00:23Kentucky, in fact, Kentucky were unranked going into the LSU game despite the fact that they were 4-1 all
00:38the way up here now to 15.
00:41We'll do a bit of spread math if anybody is interested.
00:46Kentucky's most recent road game was South Carolina.
00:50They were a two-and-a-half point dog.
00:53To the Gamecocks, is Oklahoma four points better than South Carolina?
00:59Seems reasonable.
01:01Seems reasonable.
01:03Kentucky, I mean, they were an eight-and-a-half, nine-and-a-half point home dog to LSU.
01:11Some smart people thought that made sense.
01:14Other smarter people said, no, it doesn't, and rolled with the Wildcats.
01:20Here's the interesting thing, guys, and I'm super excited to get your breakdown on this one, Dave.
01:24Kentucky right now just continue to find ways, right?
01:29They continue, continue, continue to find ways.
01:31It is difficult, though, to have to do it again.
01:35And this is an Oklahoma team whose season has new life following their upset over the Texas Longhorns.
01:45I am not laying this number with OU.
01:48There's a different way for me to attack.
01:50But how do we get to this number?
01:53I at least see how we landed here.
02:02With this one, Kevin, it jumped out to me right off the bat.
02:07I think I sent you and our producer a text the minute I saw it.
02:10But the narratives, I get it.
02:13Oklahoma has new life.
02:14Kentucky, can they do this every single week?
02:17But I'm going to take advantage of the number that's posted there.
02:21And back-to-back wins, upset wins over South Carolina LSU.
02:24The Wildcats won with QB efficiency, aggressive fourth down decisions, and late game execution.
02:30Kenny Minchie completed 67% of his passes.
02:33Didn't throw an interception.
02:34It's thrown just one interception in 178 attempts.
02:38They're doing the small things right.
02:40Why does that matter?
02:41The efficiency matters because Oklahoma has a darn good defense.
02:45Ranks first nationally in EPA per play.
02:48Coming off a huge win in the Red River rivalry.
02:51Top 10 defense in yards allowed and scoring.
02:54I get it.
02:55That makes sense.
02:56But they also have no offense.
02:58They scored 27 over the Longhorns.
03:00That's the most they've scored all season.
03:02If you don't count the UTEP game where they won 51-0.
03:06They scored 37 combined points against New Mexico, Georgia, and Michigan.
03:12So, Kentucky is different.
03:14I get it.
03:15Kentucky has not played great defense.
03:17Even in their wins, they're winning.
03:18You posted the schedule a minute ago.
03:2035-34.
03:22Winning on two-point conversions in overtime.
03:25Allowing 21 points in almost every single game.
03:28Oklahoma may very well end Kentucky's dream season today in Norman.
03:33But I don't think they blow them out because Oklahoma doesn't blow anybody not named UTEP out.
03:39Think about it.
03:39They beat UTEP.
03:41Lost to Michigan.
03:43Struggled against New Mexico.
03:44Needed a rally versus Texas.
03:46Kentucky has proven it already that they can win these games.
03:50They've beaten A&M.
03:51They've beaten South Carolina.
03:52They've beaten LSU.
03:54Could they win?
03:55Absolutely.
03:55Because they're efficient and they do smart things under Will Stein.
03:59I'm taking the seven.
04:01I took the seven.
04:01The minute I saw it.
04:02The minute I text you and our producer.
04:05I thought this was way too high.
04:07And it's more about Oklahoma not being able to score than it is anything else.
04:12Because, yes, it is a spot where at some point the wheels are going to fall off in Kentucky.
04:16And we're going to talk about that with Missouri in a few minutes.
04:18I just think Oklahoma doesn't have enough offense to lay seven.
04:22They couldn't do it against New Mexico.
04:23They couldn't do it against Michigan.
04:25Why do I think they're going to do it versus Kentucky?
04:28Yeah.
04:29So, what I agree with, though, is just the offensive challenges coming into this game.
04:37And, man, one of the, I think, at least for me,
04:42I think one of the things I enjoy the most in, you know, betting this sport
04:46is when you can bounce around using the same team.
04:51So, last week, Red River loved the over.
04:54We get there.
04:56I understand there was chaos involved.
04:57I kind of thought there would be chaos involved in getting to that.
05:02And now, Kentucky is here.
05:06And the total is, like, five points higher?
05:11Oklahoma had two defensive special teams touchdowns?
05:16Oklahoma, including the UTEP game, averaged 23 points per game.
05:21If you take just the power conference games, it's 17.
05:25And, again, their offense did not score 14 of their 27
05:31from last week against Texas.
05:35And I don't, I mean, Kentucky's just not going to, in my eyes at least,
05:40put up a big number here today.
