00:00Why is Oregon-Nebraska a big deal?
00:03Dante Moore is still out.
00:05Super unfortunate, okay?
00:06That really is.
00:09But Oregon hosts UCLA last week
00:13and put forward a disgusting football game.
00:18And Dan Lanning is,
00:21especially because probably the 24th,
00:23Dan Lanning can't actually be on the hot seat, right?
00:26Just to kind of connect what we were just saying,
00:28James Franklin maybe is not fired in a 2014 playoff era
00:33because Penn State go, you know what?
00:34We are going to always make, I don't know,
00:36but maybe he still is because we would make it with anybody.
00:39I don't know.
00:41Nevertheless, in come Nebraska.
00:45And you would think Dylan Rayola revenge game
00:49or whatever game.
00:50I don't know.
00:51Maybe it's Nebraska revenge.
00:52I don't know, right?
00:53But it's like Dylan Rayola versus old school.
00:55It's like, that's a big thing.
00:57And then Dylan Rayola was so bad.
01:03So bad.
01:04Dave and I talked about it last week before the UCLA game.
01:06We're like, guys,
01:07I'm not sure you should just like blindly say to yourselves,
01:11Rayola, Dante Moore, no drop off.
01:12I think that would be a really dangerous thing to think.
01:16And he got benched.
01:18We don't know just yet who's going to start for Oregon.
01:20By the way, this game is like almost 12 hours away.
01:23So we're not going to know for a while.
01:26However, I thought I was going to ultimately like, look, fun game to talk about.
01:29I'm not going to bet.
01:31This made my card.
01:32I played Oregon at six and a half.
01:35So we dropped this under a touchdown.
01:37So UCLA, Nebraska, UCLA is the better football team.
01:41That was 10 with, hey, we know Rayola starting.
01:44Now it's Rayola or, you know, it's Brock Thomas.
01:47We've dropped it because of that performance.
01:50But Rayola still did the things he did against USC.
01:55I don't think that it is unreasonable that you, I actually think it is almost a guarantee,
02:01no matter what, Oregon is going to get better quarterback play this week than last week.
02:05I think Dan Lanning off a loss is still a very, very dangerous head coach and will run it up
02:12if the opportunity is provided.
02:14I don't think Nebraska are bad.
02:15I don't think this is a great spot.
02:17All the emotion of big noon kick at home against Indiana almost pulled off the upset.
02:21And now you've got to go all the way to the Pacific Northwest to play Oregon.
02:25I laid six and a half here with the Ducks, Dave.
02:28And I said it on the show to you last week.
02:30Dylan Rayola is a backup quarterback for a reason.
02:32He could have gone anywhere in the country, and he's still a backup quarterback.
02:35In today's day and age, you can be a starter anywhere, and he's still a backup for a reason.
02:41And we saw that last week in that game, how bad he played versus UCLA.
02:46In Nebraska, like, they played well versus Indiana.
02:49They played a lot better versus Indiana than anyone gave them credit for.
02:52You've got to go now play an angry Oregon team.
02:55And just, it is what it is.
02:56Oregon was not as good as people thought they were.
02:59And you lose your starting quarterback, Heisman Trophy candidate, top 10 draft pick.
03:04It's going to hurt.
03:05I don't think anybody saw Oregon losing three or four games this season.
03:08They still can end the season strong.
03:10They still can go to a notable bowl game.
03:12I think any notion of Dan Lanning being on the hot seat is just as stupid as Kalen DeBoer being
03:18on the hot seat in Alabama.
03:19You're not going to get anybody better to run your program that you have right now in-house.
03:24They're still, get a quarterback back, get a little bit of a defense.
03:29And by the way, the loss to Oklahoma State aged well.
03:33Oklahoma State is number 18 in the country.
03:36So that wasn't as bad of a loss as everybody thought it was.
03:39Maybe don't go play UCLA and look as bad as you did.
03:42But again, get a backup quarterback.
03:44I think Oregon is a lot closer to what we thought they were with Dante Moore than what they're showing
03:51on the field.
03:52And I don't necessarily blame Dan Lanning for that.
03:54You're not going to win with a backup quarterback.
03:56I do like them today versus Nebraska.
03:58I think talent-wise, it's just ridiculously pushed towards Oregon.
04:02And Oregon, they need to win because they failed last week.
04:06They looked terrible in doing so.
04:08Didn't make my guard, but I understand why it's on yours.
