00:13i know when you fall it's your chance to stand tall but this duncan may not stand as tall as
00:17the other ones before here's a look at the mattel mass universe movie origins class man at arms
00:28designed at the classic 5.5 inch origin scale with 16 points of movable articulation
00:33features a face sculpt noddled after interest alba as duncan the former head of the attorney
00:38and royal guard well here's hoping that during this review duncan does cross paths with the
00:42mechanized motor mouth before that we get a closer look at the mass universe movie origins class
00:47men in arms first i'd like to thank the folks over at mattel that were kind enough to provide this
00:51sample we're going to fill in some of the gaps of some of the figures we didn't look at from
00:55the
00:55movie as the movie makes its way to physical media for how tall man at arms is going to stand
01:00i've got
01:00this guy clocked in at about five and a half inches that's going to work out to be a figure
01:04that's 14
01:05centimeters tall i think i spoke too soon here's what man at arms looks like with a much larger trap
01:11jaw and i feel like in the movie too when the first time duncan runs into trap jaw trap jaw
01:16really
01:16shouldn't have had his mechanical mouth at that point i feel like he probably should have been
01:21just cronus and then when of course man at arms runs into him i'm sure i'm not giving away any
01:25spoilers because i think by now everybody has already seen the masters film but then by the
01:30later time when man at arms crosses paths with him again i think then cronus should have become
01:34trap jaw maybe as a result of their first clash together anyways though i'm wandering way off tangent
01:41figure wise though i mean trap jaw really should be about more the same size as a duncan obviously he's
01:46gonna be a little bit bigger than that he's certainly also a little bit bigger than some of the other
01:49origins offerings that we've also gotten as well from mattel just bringing right now he-man off in
01:54the back who is it going to be a little bit bigger that's what he looks like also with roboto
01:58i don't
01:59actually have yet an origins teela so i'm going to do the stand in right now this is the core
02:03class
02:04release of her basically the same size figure and then we can also as well bring in some other
02:08versions of man at arms as well that we've gotten from the movie here's what he happens to look like
02:12with a slightly sagging shoulder pad that would be from the core and here's also what the figure
02:16looks like if i just give him the stand with the chronicles 2 now with a massive universe movie
02:20sad to say we don't actually get a mini comic what we do however though get is a paper pamphlet
02:26carefully opening up the pamphlet i'm only just going to be throwing away anyways all the things
02:30that are actually in gray can be popped and swapped around so like his shoulders can be taken
02:34off for example you can also remove his head or remove and divorce duncan's lower half and you can
02:40also as well swap out the boots that the boot guards i'll be discarding this carefully right
02:46over here i'm not going to put it in the recycling just yet but it's going to be right there
02:50on the
02:50ready what's also right there on the ready is that duncan also does come include with his blaster
02:54and his mace now he actually retrieves both of these during battle and combat he just seems to have an
03:01endless supply of things on his body that he can just constantly use his weapons the weapons that
03:05they happen though to include is again his blaster molded nicely here in black plastic
03:12i'm sure you already have noticed that it does have a peg that sticks out actually the mace does
03:17also have a peg that sticks out the handle too whereas though the mace is actually molded in a
03:21really nice gold plastic why these pegs exist in the first place is that they can actually attach
03:27onto duncan's legs we just move his arms out of the way his arms out of the way located though
03:33on
03:33the sides of his thighs in non-removable armor these actually are molded to his legs there's
03:38actually holes right here so you can take yourself the mace doesn't really matter i'm sure somebody
03:42looking at the movie could tell me which side it's supposed to belong on but i don't know let's just
03:46put it on this side you can attach the mace on one side you can attach the blaster on the
03:51other
03:52i guess technically there would really be a right way to do it if you look i don't think he's
03:56probably
03:56drawing his gun with the handle sticking this way it probably would end up going so we'll just swap it
04:01around as i quickly say that i realize i probably didn't have it on the wrong way so that's going
04:06to plug on one side the mace on the other there is no pegging place to go on the back
04:11of his body
04:11when it comes to the mace so you can't attach it there like in some of the other examples of
04:16man
04:16at arms so again he can always retrieve his weapons as he needs them the trade-off unfortunately though
04:21in order for him to do what he's doing right now or had just done it means that there has
04:25to be pegs
04:25attached onto the guns and to the mace some may not like that i'm sure you probably could also clip
04:30those pegs off if you want to and just know it will it'll mean obviously there won't be a place
04:35to peg that onto the figure's body uh armor can also be removed on man at arms it looks like
04:41the
04:41shoulder pads are removable it looks also like the arm guard can be taken off too you just would have
04:46to pop the hand off first slide the arm guard all right we'll do it remove the hand carefully
04:52carefully carefully he says there we go and yeah you can remove the arm guard so if you wanted to
04:56really take the armor off of duncan here and put it onto another figure you could do that
05:01and then you would just essentially do the exact same things with the shoulder pads so the shoulder
05:05pads can come off the way that they've actually engineered the suit is on the back there's these
05:10tabs so you just untap one side and untap the other and then that would just swing over his head
05:16i don't really have plans honestly to remove the armor underneath really the armor would essentially
05:21really be just he-man's body just all done in green instead the head sculpt though for duncan i think
05:27is really nice it's a little on the shiny side i would say of at least the ones that we've
05:32already
05:32gotten it's probably the shiniest looking duncan that we've gotten comparing obviously here with
05:37the core class which is going to be a little bit bigger and then just to also bring in something
05:43too that also changes it seems with all of duncan's armor man at arms goes from various different
05:48shades of gold kind of more tarnished gold when we get of course the chronicles release he gets one
05:54then shade higher with mama bear's bowl of porridge and then baby bear the smallest of the batch
05:59seems to have man at arms with the brightest colored gold i again i like the face even though
06:05again i feel like the plastic maybe for the face is a little too tad shiny it's a good looking
06:09figure
06:09though i really had attached most of my interest i feel to the man at master universe movie with i
06:15feel
06:15like the core class the core class has really been doing great job on these figures saying that
06:19though i think i might actually end up liking man at arms the most in the origins release because he's
06:26just the right size i am for me myself like i like the more vintage size of master universe figures
06:31so getting this size finally of the movie man at arms is really a dream come true i do like
06:36the way
06:36that they've covered colored his armor so even though really like the main aspects of his armor are
06:41clearly a more shinier gold or copper color and yet though the suit that he has underneath is more of
06:47just a flat green so it's just a nice contrast in colors between the shinier and the dull
06:52yeah it's a good looking figure some may again not like the idea that his his weapons or accessories
06:58attach onto his legs but really again what other place would they really put them considering really
07:02that that's where he mostly draws his weapons from man at arms is articulation his head's going to be
07:07on a ball joint if you're somewhat familiar i think by now with the origins figures they're pretty much
07:12going to have all the same levels of possibility heads can move up and down also back and forth as
07:17well the way swivels now he does actually have these little capsules on the sides of his uh his belt
07:23luckily though they don't get in the way of things when it comes to rotating his torso around
07:27you can also easily move his arms around as well despite having these shoulder pads in place
07:32he has a swivel here in his arm that hinge also is there for the elbow hands rotate back and
07:38forth
07:38there too leg splits now depending on where you really put the mace i mean i guess technically you
07:43also put the mace this way but you would think really when he goes to draw the weapon he'd be
07:47drawing it from the handle so i think it makes better sense you could also probably also angle
07:51it this way too and that might also help when it comes to angling the legs out for man at
07:56arms
07:56the legs go forward and back they do you know they do swivel there at the top of the thigh
08:01single hinge for the knee lower leg rotates again if you wanted to you could take the armor off the
08:07armor actually just clips off of his leg like that so you just clip that off swap that around with
08:12another figure as well and then of course his first feet they move back and forth they move also up
08:16and
08:16down i want to make sure of course i also mentioned the fact that these figures do have pickles on
08:21the
08:21bottoms of his feet yeah it's a good looking duncan up to this point really my interest in the
08:27master universe movie i said already was kind of more in line with the core class i really did like
08:31the core class it was good size budget class too but i i think honestly man at arms probably is
08:37my
08:37favorite release in the origins even though i really did like that like the tarnished metal look that he
08:43had for the chronicles release what can i say i'm a guy that really sticks with what works for me
08:48and
08:48what always had really worked for me was the origin size class i was just again hoping that we would
08:52get
08:52more of these figures i think really what mattel has focused more of their efforts on is probably i
08:57feel like the core class because i think we've gotten probably more characters released under that
09:01size class than we have actually for the origins and again for me origins i don't actually have the
09:07tila yet for that so i'm just using the stand-in tila from the core class so i can have
09:11her displayed
09:12along with the rest of the figures he sizes really well if you like of course the stock of your
09:16body
09:16now everyone's going to really like the stock of your body you may in fact favor a more leaner looking
09:20duncan but if you like the proportions and the size of what then origins brings to the table you
09:26might find yourself picking up man at arms even though the movie is no longer in theaters i think
09:30by the time this review is rolled around i've now seen the master universe movie four times and i
09:34honestly think i think indris elba played a perfect man at arms strong when he needed to be showed his
09:39weakness when he also needed to be and he was always awkward when it came to conserve conversations with
09:44adam the figure itself of man at arms i think has been nicely done here by mattel it's smaller in
09:50size
09:50it may not cater to all collectors the benefit that i like about what they've done with the movie line
09:55is that they've made three different size classes to cater collectors and what size that they would
09:59want for their shelves just so happens that i'm just collecting all three of the sizes but of the
10:04three sizes now for man at arms the origins is my favorite and again i say that because i grew
10:09up
10:09collecting the vintage toys in the first place i really like the way that it moved itself over to
10:13the origins where we had more articulated bodies but the bodies remain somewhat the same i like that
10:19they've also done that with the movie toy tie-in toys even though it does seem like when it comes
10:23to the
10:23origin size class we're not getting nearly as many characters it seems as we did for the core i think
10:29chronicles is also still falling behind on that as well i hope though that we're going to be able to
10:33at least
10:34complete the rest of the the renegades the rebellion of course that tried to bring down
10:38skeletor hopefully though mattel is still going to continue to see these figures at light of day
10:43even though the movie has already gone away when it comes to seeing them on the silver screen
10:47big thank you again to the folks over at mattel that did provide the sample of the mass universe
10:51movie origins size class man at arms let me know if you have been collecting any of these or
10:57maybe you don't collect any of these based at least on this review what would you say is your best
11:01favorite size class when it comes to duncan also if you guys did enjoy this video please of course
11:07do this all and hit with a like you guys want to follow and stalk me over on socials you
11:10can check out
