00:15Becky doesn't realize it's 100 degrees in here.
00:20Becky's always cooler than the other side of the pillow.
00:30Becky Lynch, come on.
00:33You see a trail racer in this business.
00:37Somebody who's been to the mountain top numerous times in the past,
00:40wants to get back there again.
00:45Is she ready to see somebody else do what she's done?
00:49She's a seven-time world champion.
00:53Once held the NXT women's title, would lose that to her opponent tonight.
00:59Won the Royal Rumble, won the tag champs on two different occasions.
01:07It's pretty rare, Cole, that a superstar, the level of a Becky Lynch,
01:12gets an opportunity to add to the cabinet, add to the silverware that she's already won,
01:18with a title she has never held before.
01:21Big opportunity tonight.
01:22Big quest tonight.
01:23Big 83
01:39Boom!
01:39Boom!
01:54There it is.
02:01Great entrance, it's a great song, it's very catchy.
02:04Great song, great entrance, only mildly ruined by Michael Cole and
02:08Matt McAfee room.
02:12Easy for you to say, Wade.
02:14Wade, maybe you should have just said, whoo.
02:17All right, you go.
02:18On beat though, of course, just like everybody else here in the Intuit Dope.
02:26All right, Wade, now.
02:28Whoa, whoa, I'm missing it all night.
02:31I haven't got the rhythm, that's the problem.
02:33Is that all of England, do you think, or just you?
02:36No, cuz the Beatles obviously had rhythm.
02:38They did, Rolling Stones too, there's another Oasis.
02:41He certainly had rhythm.
02:42We had some great bands, Blur.
02:44All right, so maybe just missed you.
02:46Culture classed me, apparently.
02:48Lyra Valkyria, Intercontinental Champion.
02:52Our first ever, has carried that title well.
02:56I wonder if Mr. Iguana likes karma chameleons.
02:58No part for that.
03:04The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the Women's Intercontinental Championship.
03:20Introducing first, the challenger, from Dublin, Ireland, the man, Becky Lynch.
03:39And look at this, wasted little time.
03:41Lyra Valkyria ticked off at Becky and taking the fight to the man in this matchup.
03:46And so much bad blood between these two.
03:49Of course, Lyra Valkyria cost Becky Lynch a place in the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match.
03:55In numerous brawls between the pair of women.
03:58Let's get this straight.
03:59First Lyra beat her for the NXT Championship.
04:01Then, at WrestleMania, Lyra and Becky win the women's tag team titles.
04:05The night after they lost to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
04:07Becky turned her back and Lyra beat the hell out of her.
04:10And that's why we're here tonight.
04:11Well, Lyra Valkyria was the one who lost that tag match and lost the tag gold,
04:16ruining Becky Lynch's triumphant return to WWE, hence the bad blood.
04:23Lyra Valkyria didn't even get an opportunity to get Intercontinental.
04:26Oh, and Becky Lynch dropping her on the floor.
04:29Remember, champion's advantage tonight.
04:31Becky has to pin or submit Lyra Valkyria to win the Intercontinental title.
04:36Valkyria now writhing in agony, grabbing that left elbow,
04:39which took all of that momentum of Valkyria's fall.
04:44Well, Becky smells of desperation right now.
04:48She's never beaten Lyra Valkyria.
04:49She lost to her with the NXT title on the line.
04:52She lost to her back at Backlash for the Intercontinental Championship.
04:55And Lyra is just, she has so much confidence now, Wade.
05:00Becky Lynch, I think, is taken out of her game.
05:02Well, both of those victories by Lyra Valkyria over Becky Lynch were very quick
05:08pins out of nowhere.
05:09Nothing decisive in life, but the rivalry this heated, you need to make a statement
05:14by knocking out your opponent or making them say, I quit.
05:18And Becky with the best loader, she's been dominating here thus far.
05:21After Lyra Valkyria started the match off quickly.
05:24Cover now for the championship and a kick out by Lyra.
05:26Becky clearly had a plan.
05:28She was gonna attack early, now she's in charge.
05:30Everybody on the kickoff panel had Becky Lynch winning this match tonight, except for me.
05:35That's why I think Lyra needs to really fight back here.
05:40But Becky's executing a game plan that Hall of Famers would put together.
05:43I'll tell you right now, you mentioned that- This is your champion for about five more minutes.
05:49Lyra Valkyria over Becky Lynch.
05:51I would argue that Becky Lynch took Lyra Valkyria too lightly.
05:54She wasn't aware how much Valkyria has grown and developed over the past six months.
05:59This is a very different Becky Lynch tonight.
06:02This is game day, Becky Lynch.
06:04Big time backs here to make a statement against the young pretender.
06:08Yeah, this is a different Lyra Valkyria than the one she remembers from being the young girl.
06:13Backslide by Lyra, shoulders down, rep Jessica Carr in perfect position.
06:17This is Intercontinental Champion.
06:19Oh, went for the manhandle slam, great counter by Lyra for the win, and a kick out by Becky.
06:23Really nice reversal there, so how technically a scoop Lyra Valkyria is.
06:28Yeah, that was a great, great counter by Becky into the cover, kick out at two.
06:32Lyra was going for Nightwing, her finishing maneuver.
06:34Lyra's been the only woman to hold the Intercontinental Championship.
06:37She won the inaugural tournament back in January, 140 days as champion.
06:43Becky Lynch, of course, has never held the Intercontinental title.
06:46We'd like to add that to her resume tonight.
06:48How nerdy, timid did Lyra Valkyria used to come across in her early days here
06:54on the Raw and SmackDown roster?
06:56A new side of her brought out by Lynch.
06:58Leg drop, cover, hooks the leg, almost in here.
07:01All that time by Becky.
07:03There's often that wake-up moment for young superstars when they break in at the very top level.
07:09You have to realize the guys and the girls that you watch, the guys and the girls that you studied,
07:14they're great.
07:14They ain't your friends anymore.
07:16They have to stop being your heroes.
07:18It's dog-eat-dog at the very top of this game.
07:21Becky Lynch is frustrated.
07:23And I think she's a bit desperate, as I said before.
07:25In her last five matches for a championship, Becky Lynch is old for five.
07:32Has not been able to get it done.
07:33And the more that streak goes on, Pat, the more it gets in the back of your head
07:36that maybe you can't win the gold again.
07:38You may just start getting a little bit emotional about it,
07:40which we've certainly seen out of Becky over the last couple weeks.
07:42If you call it emotional, I call it a sore loser.
07:46Do you know who else shares that trait of being a sore loser?
07:49Pretty much every Hall of Famer we have in WWE.
07:53It's a good thing at the top.
07:55Yeah, certainly not used to it.
07:57Lyra, ducks underneath.
08:00Spinning neck breaker to Becky and both women dance.
08:03Lyra's not familiar with losing as well.
08:05Seems like all she does is win, certainly since she got here to Monday Night Raw.
08:09Yeah, confidence is just growing.
08:11She's everywhere in media around the world.
08:15Metro UK interview this week.
08:17She talked about learning it's fight or flight, do it or don't.
08:23She was featured in Muscle and Fitness for her CrossFit routine.
08:27The world is beginning to learn more about Lyra Valkyria.
08:30And the more time she has five-star matches like she had at Backlash and perhaps here tonight,
08:34the more people are going to appreciate what this young woman can do.
08:37It's nothing but a great sign when a superstar absorbs more spotlight and gets better and better,
08:44like Lyra Valkyria has done.
08:46But this is a real test tonight because Becky Lynch has the bit between her teeth and is out for
08:52blood.
08:53Yeah, but now Lyra Valkyria starting to come back a bit in this match.
08:56Oh, down goes Becky for the win now.
09:00Becky barely kicks out at two and a half.
09:03Top tier durability shown by Lyra Valkyria.
09:07So far not a surprise that Becky Lynch has that same level.
09:12And remember what else is at stake here.
09:14Becky loses, she'll never get an opportunity at the Intercontinental title as long as that young woman,
09:18Lyra, holds the championship.
09:20However, if Becky should win, then she wants to embarrass Lyra about forcing Lyra to hold Becky's hand in the
09:27air,
09:28as Becky celebrates her victory.
09:30That humiliation is just as bad as the prospect of losing the goal to Valkyria.
09:35Now by Becky, looking to win the title this way.
09:37Lyra Valkyria able to reverse, shoulders down, kick out.
09:43Lyra, so talented.
09:46Becky, so smart.
09:48Becky DDT stands Lyra up on the top of her head.
09:51Becky closing in on the title.
09:53Hook of the leg for the win.
09:54Near fall again for the man.
09:56Every disc in the neck of Lyra Valkyria just got compressed by this spike DDT.
10:05All of the power and momentum right on the top of the cranium.
10:09And Valkyria is looking like she's in a mess now.
10:14There's levels to this game.
10:16And this we are witnessing is called Unmatched Finesse from Becky Lynch.
10:22Becky into the corner, launched out to the apron by the champion.
10:26Right hand by Becky, stuns Lyra Becky.
10:28Just been a step quicker, I think, here tonight so far.
10:30Becky calls this city home.
10:33Managed to knock the stuffing out of Lyra Valkyria, who has dropped down the gears,
10:37and is desperately now trying to get back into the fight.
10:41Yeah, Becky had a completely different game plan tonight than she did last month at Backlash.
10:46And that again shows you the level of Becky Lynch, you want to keep changing up.
10:50Look at the power of Valkyria from the top rope.
10:54Lyra, looking to put Becky away.
10:59Down goes Becky.
11:01Cover of that fisherman's in a kick out by Becky at two.
11:05And it really shows you how evenly matched these two R's.
11:09We take another look at this suplex from the very top by Valkyria,
11:14who stacked it with his fisherman suplex, devastating combo there.
11:18But neither woman has really had an extended period of superiority in this match thus far.
11:24It's been back and forth, aside from 20 seconds here, 20 seconds there.
11:29Absolutely.
11:30And Wade, you said evenly matched, and you're right.
11:34The last couple of matches they had could have gone either way.
11:37And Lyra came out on top, which helped this amazing
11:42confidence build in this Intercontinental Champion.
11:46Yeah, Lyra Valkyria over the last couple of weeks has been talking the same game
11:49that she's been walking, which is the top of the WWE.
11:52Went for the moonsault, lands on her feet, Becky runs into a heel kick.
11:58That turned Becky inside out, Valkyria now with an opportunity.
12:04Becky turns it around, into an arm bar now.
12:07Becky in an arm bar on Lyra.
12:09Lyra's in trouble, Lyra taps, Becky's the champion.
12:12Lyra's eyes popping out of her head, realizing that
12:16championship's been a while.
12:17Great move by Lyra.
12:19So smart to get out of the fire and back on the offense, just like that guy.
12:24And now Valkyria, knee to the back of the neck.
12:27Look at the way that Becky Lynch's legs are bending here.
12:30Modified half-busting crowd, and why the hell are you taking this now, Lyra?
12:35Lyra's so innovative for such a young superstar.
12:38Yeah, punishing Becky Lynch.
12:40Technical masterclass from one of the Dubliners in this match.
12:44It's been like this since the beginning, she is so talented.
12:48Yeah, Becky gonna force a break, a five count.
12:52And that's really frustrating if you're Valkyria.
12:54You know you've got the game winner in your hands, and Lynch escapes from your clutches,
12:59but straight back on the offense.
13:02Cross-bodied by Lyra out to the floor.
13:05Yeah, Valkyria's not taking her foot off the gas.
13:08You simply cannot do that against someone the caliber of a Becky Lynch.
13:12You can't give him a window.
13:13Well, Becky Lynch is scrambling now, trying to get that distance of his work.
13:17Yeah, Becky lying over the hood of the Spanish announce table.
13:23Lyra Valkyria comes out to bring the fight to Becky.
13:26Becky, though, elbow to the midsection.
13:29It's all about the Intercontinental Championship.
13:33Oh, Lyra Valkyria punting Becky Lynch.
13:38Becky Lynch looking like she's got nothing left in the tank at this point.
13:42She's been outgunned over the last couple of minutes by Lyra Valkyria.
13:46And Lyra now gonna climb up on the top of the Spanish announce table.
13:49Becky Lynch is prone.
13:52Over the barricade, Lyra now.
13:54Legs rock to the back of the neck of Lynch, and Lynch just collapses.
14:00Lyra Valkyria.
14:01Massive high risk there from Valkyria, landed nastily on her own tailbone,
14:06but shrugging it off.
14:07Clearly, the worst for where now, Becky Lynch.
14:11Lyra Valkyria ready to risk it all.
14:13She said she feels alive when she can fly, and that's what Lyra's gonna do here.
14:17Becky though, Carter stacks her up for the win, and the championship, and a kick out at two.
14:22I don't know if that was reflexes from Lynch, or just playing possum and sucking,
14:27suckering, excuse me, Lyra Valkyria into this one after this kind of offense.
14:34Just superb stop from Becky Lynch, almost pulling out the victory at the death.
14:41This has been an incredible match tonight for the Women's Intercontinental Championship.
14:46Did not disappoint.
14:47Becky Lynch, the challenger.
14:49Lyra Valkyria, the champion.
14:51Both women down, center of the ring.
14:53We are sold out tonight in Los Angeles, at the Intuit Dome in front of 17,374 WWE fans,
15:03who have been vocal all night long.
15:06Becky Lynch certainly did not get an easy ride to the top of this industry,
15:10and she has not given anyone else one either.
15:13Certainly not, Lyra Valkyria.
15:15You wanna climb, you wanna go somewhere here, you gotta get past this version of Becky Lynch,
15:21the acid test.
15:24Lyra Valkyria is ready to say, I am already past you.
15:28I am the Intercontinental Champion.
15:29It is me who will carry Ireland going forward.
15:38Lyra, ready for the moment, ready for the pressure, ready for the spotlight.
15:42Is she ready to put Becky Lynch away?
15:45Now carry it with Becky on her shoulders.
15:53Whoa, manhandle slam by Becky from the second row for the title,
15:58and Lyra kicks out at two, and Becky can't believe it.
16:03How cold, a super manhandle slam.
16:09And all the color draining from the face of Lynch.
16:13All the hope fading with it.
16:16That was the ultimate nuclear weapon from Becky Lynch.
16:21And more than equal to it was Lyra Valkyria.
16:25And the tank has fully run dry.
16:28And Becky Lynch now trying to figure out, what do I do?
16:31I haven't ever been able to beat Lyra Valkyria.
16:34I had an opportunity with a massive manhandle slam from the second rope,
16:38and I still couldn't get the job done.
16:41How does she beat Lyra?
16:42Well, your best shot, and you came up blank.
16:45You're in big trouble, and Becky Lynch is about to come unglued.
16:49Oh, big slap from Lyra.
16:51Lyra just never gives up.
16:53Oh, and she might now.
16:55Whipped head and spine first.
16:58Manhandle slam outside onto the floor.
17:01But Becky's got to get her back in the ring in order to win the championship.
17:05A five count by our official Jessica Carr.
17:08Becky Lynch tapping into a new level of savagery here.
17:12And Lyra Valkyria, as Becky's trying to,
17:15she's got to get in the ring to force the count to be broken.
17:19Wise veteran move by Becky.
17:22Also by Lyra.
17:23Lyra though, Nightwing!
17:24Nightwing!
17:25Nightwing!
17:26Outside the ring to the floor.
17:28Both women are down with the title up for grabs.
17:30One, two, three, four.
17:33Nightwing onto the floor.
17:35Lyra Valkyria.
17:37Just a blink of an eye, reactionary moment, and this may be a double count-out here, Cole.
17:43Count of seven now.
17:44Double count-out means Lyra keeps the championship.
17:46You are now in a count of eight.
17:48Both women are struggling here.
17:51And now Becky and Lyra both meet the count in a count of nine.
17:53Thank God a double count-out there would have solved absolutely nothing.
17:59Thankfully for all of us, this match lives on.
18:02Well, Lyra still would not have a loss to Becky Lynch.
18:04Yeah, but let's talk about it.
18:06So the hand of Becky Lynch would not have been raised.
18:09The opportunity for Becky Lynch to never challenge again for that Intercontinental Championship.
18:15A double count-out, none of that matters.
18:19We need a conclusion tonight, and we're gonna get one.
18:24Lyra and Becky now fighting.
18:27Again, just no love lost between these two.
18:30Lyra Valkyria used to idolize Becky Lynch.
18:33Grew up wanting to be just like her.
18:35Becky became a mentor before she turned her back on Valkyria.
18:39And now Becky into the ropes, roll up now by Lynch.
18:42Becky Lynch, Lyra able to turn it around into a pitting combination of her own
18:47before Becky kicks out.
18:48Look at the wounds of Valkyria's back.
18:51Lyra now, rolls through, shoulders down.
18:54Will she beat Becky again that way?
18:55Becky Lynch now.
18:57Becky Lynch, and listen, wait a minute.
18:59From our point of view, I can see Becky at the tights.
19:02Here is your winner, the new Women's Intercontinental Champion,
19:11the man, the man, Becky Lynch.
19:17Becky Lynch wins the Intercontinental Championship after a tremendous reign by
19:22Lyra Valkyria.
19:23And I'm wondering if we got a camera angle on the other side of the ring because
19:27Becky Lynch clearly from our vantage point had pulled the tights of Lyra Valkyria,
19:32giving her the opportunity to pick up the win.
19:35I don't know what you're talking about, Michael Cole.
19:37All I saw was an extremely poised Becky Lynch.
19:41This is what I'm talking about right there.
19:43Becky's got the tights.
19:44Becky's got the tights.
19:46And she picked up the win over Lyra.
19:47Wasn't a clear angle as far as I'm concerned.
19:50But what is a clear angle is Becky Lynch with some newly acquired gold.
19:56And there's still a little bit of business to take care of now in the aftermath,
20:00isn't there, Michael Cole?
20:01Lyra has to lift Becky's hand.
20:05And Becky knew where the ref was.
20:07I assume is what Becky would say.
20:09Hand on the tights for sure.
20:10I saw the same thing you did, but it doesn't matter now.
20:14The man is Intercontinental Champion, and Lyra's gotta pay up.
20:19The deal is a deal.
20:21Well, Lyra Valkyria, a very proud woman, a very proud champion.
20:27She'll pull her into the bargain, there's no doubt about that.
20:33I mean, it's a tough time.
20:34She's humiliated and embarrassed that we're having to do this.
20:37But that's the most prized possession to her most hated rival.
20:42Here we go.
20:52Oh, come on, you gotta give Lyra credit.
20:53True sport there.
20:55Acknowledging the queen of Dublin's fair city, Becky Lynch.
21:02All four sides.
21:04Oh, come on.
21:05Yeah.
21:06Look at the people that money's worth.
21:07Lyra did what she was supposed to do, Wade.
21:10It was never agreed upon.
21:12It's always in the details.
21:15Do it with gusto, that's it.
21:16Do it like you mean it, Lyra.
21:22Why do this to this poor woman?
21:25It's about victory.
21:26It's about making a statement, Cole.
21:34Yeah, I gotta complete the deal, she's saying.
21:36You gotta strap it around my waist.
21:38I don't know if they talked about that.
21:40Crowning a new champion here.
21:41If they do it, they do it right.
21:45Well, first she cheats to win, then she's gotta put on this public display of humiliation
21:53to the former champion Lyra Valkyria.
21:56Valkyria needs to know her place in the pecking order, and this is it.
22:01Directly beneath the Intercontinental Champion, big time.
22:06Oh, look at this!
22:07Yeah!
22:09Lyra Valkyria has had enough!
22:13German Nightwing!
22:18Well, Becky deserved that, Wade.
22:21Lyra lived up to her part of the bargain, and then some.
22:25Lyra Valkyria is a sore loser, if you'll ask me.
22:29And there's one thing I really hate, it's a sore loser.
22:32Listen, at the end of the day, if she held up the arm once and left, no problem.
22:37Becky's the Intercontinental Champion.
22:39Lyra, though, got a little payback.
