00:00Welcome to Bombsport Next Gen.
00:02Today, we're heading to Lviv, Ukraine for the 2026 Ukrainian Championships, where we
00:08follow one of Ukraine's promising young athletes in the women's pole vault.
00:12Born on July 24, 2007, Olha Belchenko is 19 years old and already competing at a very
00:20high level in the event, with a personal best of 4.40.
00:23Earlier in 2026, Belchenko claimed the Ukrainian national title with a clearance of 4.10 in
00:30Lviv before going on to produce an outstanding international season.
00:35She later cleared 4.40 to equal her personal best and win the silver medal at the 2026
00:41World U-20 Championships, a historic result for Ukrainian pole vaulting at the World U-20
00:47level.
00:48Now, let's take a closer look at her performance at the Ukrainian Championships in Lviv.
00:55Belchenko opens her competition at 4.00.
00:58The first attempt doesn't go her way, and neither does the second.
01:03Everything now comes down to her third and final attempt at this height.
01:07She gets good height on the bar.
01:09The clearance is not perfect, but it's enough.
01:12The takeoff and vault come a little early, but Belchenko stays composed and gets over
01:17the bar.
01:184.00 is cleared on the third attempt.
01:21A difficult start, but Olja finds the answer when she needs it and keeps her competition
01:26alive.
01:33The bar now moves up to 4.10.
01:36On her first attempt at this height, Belchenko gets off the ground with the pole, but the movement
01:41breaks down before she can reach the bar, and she is unable to complete the clearance.
01:55She comes back for her second attempt, looking much more composed through the vault.
01:59This time, Belchenko gets the necessary height and clears 4.10 successfully.
02:05A good response after the failed attempt, and she continues her competition with another
02:09height cleared.
02:14The bar now moves up to 4.20, and Belchenko faces another difficult challenge.
02:22Her first attempt doesn't work out, as she fails to get enough height to clear the bar.
02:27She comes back for the second attempt, but once again, the clearance doesn't come together.
02:33Now, it all comes down to her third and final attempt at 4.20.
02:38Belchenko gives it another try, but she cannot complete the clearance, bringing her competition
02:43to an end at this height.
02:46After clearing 4.00 on her third attempt and 4.10 on her second, Olja finishes with a best
02:53clearance of 4.10 and takes third place in the competition.
02:57A podium finish for the young Ukrainian pole vaulter, adding another valuable result to
03:03her 2026 season.
