00:00Okay, so you want to try watercolor, but you don't want to drop 50 bucks before you even know if
00:05you like it.
00:06Same.
00:07I dug through the listings and pulled the 5 best beginner sets out their real ratings, real sales, real cheap.
00:14Let's count them down.
00:16First up, the glitter watercolor paint set.
00:20120 colors in a wooden box for $8.75.
00:24That's basically $0.07 a color, and it comes in an actual wooden case, which honestly makes it feel way
00:30more expensive than it is.
00:32Over 3,500 people bought it, it sits at 4.6 stars.
00:37If you want maximum colors for minimum money, this is the one.
00:41Next, the foldable travel set.
00:44It comes in 18, 24, 42, or 60 colors, folds into a fan shape, and includes a water brush pen.
00:53$6.39.
00:55The rating is 4.9, which is about as good as it gets, and over 3,000 sold.
01:00This is the set you throw in a bag.
01:03No water cup needed, the brush holds the water.
01:07Perfect for sketching outside.
01:09Then we've got the 20 color metal box set for $5.09.
01:14Same 4.9 rating, 2,500 sold.
01:18The trick here is the pearls, these paints have a shiny, pearlescent finish, so they shimmer on the paper.
01:24If you want to add a little sparkle to a finished piece without buying anything fancy, this box does it
01:29in one stroke.
01:31No. 4, the metallic watercolor set.
01:35$4.88, portable, lightweight, high pigment, starry shades.
01:43This one is all about the shimmered deep metallic tones that pop on dark paper.
01:48It's also packaged nicely enough to gift.
01:52$4 and change for something that looks like a real present.
01:56Last one, and the cheapest, the 7-piece refillable water brush pen set.
02:01$3.56.
02:04Fine tips, refillable, portable.
02:07Nearly 2,000 sold at 4.9 stars.
02:10Now, these aren't paints, they're the brushes, but here's the thing, they work with any of the pans we just
02:16talked about.
02:17Buy these and you've basically upgraded every set on this list.
02:21That's the 5.
02:23All links are down in the description, so grab whichever fits your budget.
