00:04She's out of the States winning AP and the Mayor.
00:10Possibilities endless. Ladies and gentlemen, here's the champion.
00:14$7 million in the back.
00:18In it for the gold is the Dam of Englishman, one of the most brilliant racehorses we've
00:23seen not only in 2026 but in recent years.
00:27and it's a great privilege and a great honor to have the opportunity to sell her in foal
00:32into mischief year in, year out, the leading sire in North America
00:37and having another amazing year in 2026.
00:41She's a special mare because she's got arguably the fastest horse in America as a foal.
00:48Boy, you like to be around nice horses.
00:51We bought for Country Life Farm this mare,
00:54and right in front of her was the baby who was Englishman, and he was fancy.
00:59I think he bought like $240,000 as a Maxfield weanling,
01:04and so the mare looked like great value at $75,000 right after it, but he was a pretty horse.
01:11She checked all the boxes for us as far as physically, confirmation-wise, height-wise,
01:16and when we saw that Maxfield colt go in the ring ahead of her, that turned our head,
01:21and I said, wow, she's on our list, and this foal, if she can produce foals that look like him,
01:25that's another big checkmark to have on your list.
01:29Englishman might be the best-looking horse in training I've seen in quite a while,
01:33and I go to the races all over the place and see thousands of horses every year,
01:37but he's striking, handsome, and he knows it like all the good ones.
01:42Englishman really almost has a cult following.
01:45The brilliance of his races, the performance that he puts on.
01:50Listen to the race calls, and they're saying, you know, Englishman is a rocket.
01:53Englishman destroys the field.
01:54And Englishman in another terrific display.
01:59Look at Englishman fly through the stretch,
02:02dominating the H. Allen Jerkins Memorial.
02:05In it for the gold is a very attractive mare,
02:08maybe 16 and a half hands, well-made, looks like an athlete,
02:13and the babies have her bone in conformation
02:16with the coloring and markings of the sires.
02:19For my really good partners who have been with me for a long time,
02:23it validates their belief in us.
02:26The partners, some of them are levitating,
02:28watching Englishman run and all this.
02:30It's the thrill of not only our life, but theirs as well.
02:33And that's the whole idea of the partnership business,
02:35is to share some of that with folks.
02:38These are change-your-life moments.
02:40One of the things that makes the thoroughbred industry great
02:42is stories like In It for the gold.
02:44To see the Country Life operation, Mike and Josh Ponds,
02:47who have been great supporters and great advocates
02:51for the maryland bracing and breeding industry for years,
02:54you know, buy a mare like her and then have the success
02:58and have a horse like Englishman show up in the pedigree.
03:01The hard work pays off.
03:03The dedication pays off.
03:05To survive, for the long term,
03:09you have to take money off the table
03:11and reinvest it and please your partners.
03:14I think this is the right thing to do.
03:16And Spentrick is our partner,
03:17and hopefully they'll be interested in her at the sale.
03:20And it's a great market to be selling a mare and foal
03:24to end a mischief who may be the dam of a champion.
03:27And yes, it'll be hard to sell her,
03:30but we've got a daughter.
03:33We've ridden the roller coaster this far,
03:34and it's a great ride with friends.
03:38So it's bittersweet to see them go,
03:40but I also know that if you want to stay alive in this business,
03:43you've got to pick your moments,
03:44and this is our moment.
03:47We'll see you next time.
03:47Bye-bye.
03:47Bye-bye.
03:48Bye-bye.
03:48Bye-bye.
03:48Bye-bye.
03:51Bye-bye.
03:51You
