00:00This is just one of the most baffling stories, Craig, that I think we have seen in a season of
00:05some craziness right now in the NFL. But the idea that before you flew to London, you knew your
00:13quarterback had a blood clot in his calf. You told him don't go to sleep at a precaution. So
00:23reports now that he was up for a good, you know, 30 to 36 hours only to play in the
00:29game.
00:30Find that the blood clot was absolutely still there and flew back home from London and now
00:37is going to be on IR for the rest of the season. Every which way you turn in this story,
00:44it does not look good for the NFL and it certainly doesn't look good for the Philadelphia Eagles as
00:51an organization as Jalen Hurts done for the season. Hey, Joe, great to be with you. Yeah, look, I saw
00:59this story this morning and sort of following along. And I think that, you know, me, I always
01:04like to play the other side and play the approach here. I don't know if there is one to play,
01:09but I
01:10guess what I'm going to do is just wait to hear from the Eagles. And then I think at that
01:15point,
01:16maybe we'll get some clarity on it. Obviously, if everything that's being reported is accurate,
01:21it does seem like one of the most bizarre injury situations we've seen in a really long time for all
01:26this stuff to be reported like that. And so, you know, also consider that, you know, these guys
01:31who do the reporting are getting the information, generally speaking, Joe, from agents. And so it
01:38leads me to believe that maybe, you know, in doing the same sort of reporting as I have for many
01:44years,
01:44Joe, is that, you know, when an agent tells you to put something out like this, because that's what
01:48they do, is it's sort of sending the message that maybe he was mishandled. So once we hear from,
01:54once we hear from the Eagles, I think we'll get some more clarity on that. As far as Jalen Hurts
01:58is concerned, it did appear when we were talking about this, you know, last week that, you know,
02:04any player that has blood clots, generally speaking, is out a really long time. And you just worry about
02:11the person's life, the person's health, as opposed to playing football. We've seen this in so many
02:15different scenarios. Victor Wimbayama was the most recent, I think, big name player to miss a lot of time
02:21with it. So after yesterday, I did, I do feel like we're getting some clarity on teams now at this
02:27point. And for Carolina to beat Philadelphia, like they did yesterday without Jalen Hurts.
02:34And now with all the injuries that Philadelphia has, I would say it's probably a lost season.
02:39The only thing, Joe, that I would say also, that's, that's one side of my mouth. Here's the other side
02:44of my mouth. This is like the worst division of football I've ever seen. Like the Philly could get
02:48in the seven and 10 or something like that. Like, and so it does make you wonder a little bit
02:53that if, uh, you know, on the football side, if Philadelphia was in say the AFC East or they were
02:59in the NFC South, you may say, well, all right, that's it. But I don't know, Joe, like in this
03:05season, I mean, I, is, is there a team that's going to win eight games and go eight and nine
03:10and win
03:10the division? I, I, I'm at a complete loss at who wins this division. I have no idea. The giants
03:18are
03:18already a 10 point dog against Houston this week. Uh, and they have a quarterback controversy now,
03:25but if listen, if you can't figure out between James Winston and JJ McCarthy, who your quarterback
03:30is, then you don't have a quarterback. Uh, so it's very hard to look at, at the giants and think,
03:36well, this is a great opportunity for them. We know Saquon likely back in the next couple of
03:42weeks. It doesn't help the offensive line. Uh, but I I'm just, this news today just felt like a dagger
03:49to Eagles fans. Now we're questioning whether or not, uh, uh, Mannion, the offensive coordinator
03:56is the right guy for the job. Stop me. If you've heard that before. Uh, and listen, if McGee was
04:02the
04:02guy and a lot of people thought or had hoped that he might be, uh, you know, replacing Jalen Hurts,
04:09well, he's going to have an opportunity to show it, but yeah, an opportunity there in that game.
04:14Did he, he didn't show me anything. Uh, that game could have been worse.
04:18Well, your second half was a little bit better and, uh, look, I'm not going to make excuses for
04:23him. I think the reality is there's a reason why he was a backup, but Joe, there's a reason why
04:28a lot
04:29of other teams wanted him to, maybe it was to be a backup by the way on another team. I
04:32mean, look,
04:33I, I guess the bigger question is, uh, you know, with Philadelphia and we have, do have so much to
04:37talk about tonight, but with Philadelphia is, can McKee play well enough to earn a spot as a backup
04:42quarterback in this league? And, and he played yesterday as if he was a pretty good backup
04:46quarterback in the league, you know? So, uh, with the lack of quarterbacks, there are, uh, look, I,
04:53you're right. I mean, he didn't play well enough to win. He had a lot of opportunities to win,
04:58but I will say they were very banged up. They didn't have any running back of the sort.
05:02They only had one receiver basically in Devonta Smith. So I'll reserve full judgment for the end
05:06of the season, but Philadelphia season with all intents and purposes is over, but they could win
05:12the division with their season being over at seven and 10. I mean, sir, Joe, seriously, the Cowboys,
05:19Washington, the giants, the Eagles, like, I mean, this is so, but look at the records combined of these
05:25teams.
