00:00But boy, oh boy, the news was coming quickly this afternoon.
00:05A lot of different stories coming out.
00:08And the latest news, and we had talked about it this week, Craig, on, I don't know, the
00:14scheduling was not favorable to the Eagles.
00:18You make them go to London, play Jacksonville, get on a plane to come back, go home, and
00:24then they have to, instead of getting a week off, they have to take on a team that is coming
00:28off a bye week in Carolina.
00:30And now they're going to have to do it without Jalen Hurts, who's been ruled out because of
00:36a blood clot, which apparently they found on Saturday before the game last year in London,
00:42and they cleared him.
00:44But now it doesn't look like he's cleared.
00:47So now we've got a backup quarterback to go at backup offensive linemen in just a terrible
00:53spot.
00:54And as you can imagine, the line has moved a little bit with the news of this this afternoon.
01:01Yeah, like it's reached that point for Philadelphia where it definitely appears as though, at least
01:08appears as though that this is playing for next season at this point.
01:11Like, I don't know what they're supposed to do without Jalen Hurts, without Devonta Smith,
01:16without Saquon Barkley.
01:17Right, Joe?
01:17Like, you can't realistically think.
01:20I mean, they could beat Carolina this week.
01:21I'm not saying that, but you can't realistically think that, given all of the injuries that
01:27they have, that this is a 12-win team or 11-win team or a 10-win team.
01:33Like, you know, maybe they get to the end, the division still stinks, and they have a
01:37chance.
01:38So let me provide the only glimmer of hope here.
01:41The only glimmer of hope.
01:42Which is Tanner McKee, I will say, is my favorite backup quarterback in the National Football
01:50League.
01:51They have been waiting and waiting to give this guy a chance.
01:56Other teams have tried to get this guy from them year after year after year.
02:02And I understand, like, hey, wait a second.
02:03Why was he the third string behind Dalton?
02:05Why did Dalton come in and throw that pick a couple weeks ago?
02:07Why was it in McKee?
02:08I don't know the answer to that, but I would tell you that this kid has consistently lit
02:13up their practices, consistently lit up their preseason games.
02:16He's never gotten a chance to start three, four games in a row.
02:20I think this is it.
02:22And it's very possible it's two starts or three starts and done, and then we never talk about
02:28about him again.
02:29But at least they have the hope, Joe, because I personally like this player.
02:34I do.
02:36I'm not going to, like, you know, throw it down on the gauntlet and say, bet Philly
02:40this week.
02:41But there was another guy.
02:42Look, let me not play apples and oranges and compare him to Tom Brady.
02:45But just as a reminder, Tom Brady's first start was not good either.
02:48He got sacked a million times and they lost.
02:50And they weren't good with New England.
02:51And he wasn't good with New England initially.
02:54Wouldn't shock me, Joe, to see this guy be their quarterback at all.
02:58At all.
02:59The rest of the season, next season, wouldn't shock me in the slightest bit.
03:05I know they love him.
03:07He's played a bunch, but not consecutively, not two, three games in a row.
03:12Joe, every time this guy plays week 17, week 17, he's done four touchdowns and 400 yards.
03:17So I am a little excited to see him play.
03:20Now, you know, the only thing that I hope for him, Joe, is that the Eagles were playing
03:25silly with us and they've known the last few days that he's going to start.
03:29Because if he really just found out today or yesterday, oh, oh man, this is not a good
03:33spot if that's the case, you know, for him.
03:37But we talked about backup quarterbacks.
03:39And when we did, this was the guy that I thought was in my top five backup quarterbacks
03:45in the National Football League.
03:46I have him as close or near the top.
03:49So I can't wait to see what he can do.
