00:11This is a very exciting day. We have a unique sales announcement to share with you all.
00:20We have been entrusted by McLaren Racing to handle the sale of five of their Formula One
00:26cars, five cars that come direct from McLaren Heritage Collection, five cars that have been
00:32retained by McLaren since they were last campaigned.
00:48This is a very special opportunity for any buyer because you are basically buying the
00:53car direct from the manufacturer, which is really unheard of. Those cars include two MP4
01:026s. The MP4 6s are regarded as maybe the ultimate iteration of the Marlborough McLaren.
01:09The last manual transmission Formula One car to win a World Championship, powered by a V12
01:16Honda engine. These two cars have got Gerhard Berger history, but they've also were tested
01:23on multiple occasions by Ayrton Senna and that's why you will see them in the Ayrton Senna livery.
01:32We have the McLaren MP4 27, which is a Jensen Button car.
01:42The MCL 37. Whoever buys that car, that will be the newest McLaren in private ownership. McLaren have
01:52never before sold a car that is so recent. It is the current TPC car, which has been tested by
02:00the
02:00likes of Pato Ward. I would love to get in it myself. I just can't imagine how quick that car
02:06is.
02:15And then to top it all off, we have a really special car, which is the MCL 35. This is
02:22the car that
02:23really started the resurgence for McLaren back to the good old winning days that has now made them
02:29back-to-back Constructors World Champions and obviously the Drivers World Championship last year.
02:34What makes this car even more special is that it has multiple podiums with Lando Norris,
02:40including a podium at Monaco, but even more special of that is the livery.
02:46For that famous Monaco race, you may recall that McLaren ran both of those cars in golf livery. These
02:54are the only McLaren Formula One cars to ever race in golf livery. Mr. Zach Brown owns the sister car
03:01and this is the car that has been retained by McLaren from new and this is the car that we're
03:08bringing to the market. It is also the car that was part of that famous one-two finish at Monza
03:14with
03:14Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris. I think it's an incredible opportunity for someone, including all
03:22the rest of these cars, some really special cars. It's a special opportunity to be able to buy them
03:28direct from McLaren and we feel very, very privileged to be the chosen ones to handle the sale. Obviously,
03:36we have a history with selling Formula One collections and a lot of Formula One cars. Whether these cars
03:42will be bought by one buyer or whether they will be bought by five individual buyers, only time will tell,
03:48but I'm very excited to bring them to market.
04:01We're going to take a closer look at the cars themselves and we have been joined by my good
04:07friend and the big boss, Mr. Zach Brown. And a car guy, a lot of stuff. And the car guy.
04:12Zach, I am super
04:14excited by this project. Amazing opportunity for anybody to get their hands on in McLaren Formula One
04:21car, but also an incredible opportunity to be able to buy one direct from the manufacturer.
04:29The cars themselves, where do we start? Pretty cool cars. Well, why don't we start with one of the coolest.
04:37What was really cool about this is we had a history with golf back in the Bruce McLaren days,
04:43and so we kind of pioneered what you now see quite often, which is special liveries. So we went
04:50back to Monaco. This is Lando's first podium in Monaco and we did a special golf livery. I remember
04:57the excitement. I remember when we rolled it down the pit lane, all the Formula One teams
05:02popped their heads out like, wow. And it looks spectacular. It was a great race and Lando's first
05:09podium and now Monaco winner. Well, we know you're a marketing genius. Where did the golf inspired livery
05:17come from? What made you think I'm going to… You know, the history of Le Mans, right?
05:21This is the only Formula One. This is the only golf liveried car. I think
05:26Lou, who runs our marketing and our brand, absolutely nailed it. I mean, it's so iconic. To me,
05:32I love the history of the sport and you think of the special liveries over the years. Not necessarily
05:38special liveries in the sense of a one-off, but as in the iconic, you know, what we all had
05:43in posters
05:44and golf, especially around Le Mans. And they were a partner at the time. And so we're like,
05:49let's do a golf car. And it was absolutely spectacular. We did a special merchandise range.
05:55And then now you see most teams are doing a couple special liveries a year. This is actually
06:01what kicked it off. This is what all kicked it off. And obviously a hybrid era car,
06:07very rare for a hybrid era car to be sold by any of the Formula One manufacturers. Am I okay
06:15to say
06:16that the only other… I know where the other one is. It might be in a garage where I keep
06:22a couple of
06:23other cars. Which is also, this is the year we won our first race. So a very, very competitive race
06:33car. And
06:33one that really kind of set us back on the trajectory. It was the resurgence. Correct. So,
06:38and also the 35 was the first one-two from McLaren since 2010, I think. Yeah, in Monza. Yeah. I
06:46remember that like it was yesterday. You still got a tattoo somewhere. I still got the tattoo. And then,
06:50and then we've got, obviously, is a force… This, this is what I grew up with.
06:57V12s. Ayrton Senna. Gerhard Berger. So, Senna tested these cars, tested one quite a bit. Berger
07:04podium. V12s. I mean, Senna, V12, Championship, Constructors' Championship. This was the last time
07:13we'd won back-to-back Constructors' Championships up until this last year. So, to me, growing up, like,
07:21this is it. Best race cars in the world. I mean, a lot of people consider the 4.6 as
07:27the ultimate Melbourne McLaren. Obviously, the last manual Formula One car to win a World Championship.
07:34Yep. V12. Yep. And it sounds like a V12. Yeah. And great history cars. We've also got a Berger car,
07:43took part in Monaco, and also a podium car. Yep. Berger also drove the other car, but Senna tested both,
07:49and one car he tested on multiple occasions.
07:59And then we got the 27. We got a… Jenson Button. What a fantastic year.
08:04Coulda, shoulda, woulda maybe won the championship this year. So, I mean, this was the best car,
08:09second half of the year. We had some reliability issues. You know, this is the famous Lewis Hamilton,
08:16when he moved over because we had a gearbox issue, but this car is amazing to drive. Beautiful Vodafone,
08:23chrome, world champion. And someone asked me the other day, when was the last time there was two
08:27world champions in the same team? And the answer is Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.
08:33And so it's just an iconic car, unbelievably quick, really cool. Look at the arrows. Amazing. I think
08:40it's a beautiful car. Beautiful car. What I really like about this era of McLaren and other Formula
08:47One cars is, you know, I've got a couple of McLarens myself, which have taken part in your heritage
08:52program. Yeah. But life of engines are some, mostly around about 1500 kilometers. Yeah. No,
09:01all day long. So 3000 kilometers. That's the supermarket, but you can drive it all day long.
09:05And for anybody to do 3000 kilometers in one of these cars, that's a lot of years of use. Correct.
09:18And now we've got the 37. Yeah. Great car. Am I right in thinking this has got movie star pedigree?
09:24This is the car that Brad Pitt drove, uh, in, in Austin, uh, Lando, a couple of podiums. So,
09:30and that was Singapore and Japan, Japan, um, two iconic races. Um, he went on to win Singapore. I mean,
09:39this is your most modern day formula one car you can get. There are none in any other, uh, hands,
09:48uh, Mercedes power unit. Awesome. So this will be the newest car that any buyer out there will have.
09:55Correct. And I mean, they're, they're, uh, so sophisticated, the most modern technology you can
10:02get, uh, takes a team of people to run these. So you need more than a key, but, uh, the,
10:06the privilege,
10:08you know, this is also, uh, our TPC car. So our current formula one drivers with the regulations,
10:13you have to use a car that's a couple of years old. So when we get started each season,
10:17this is what our test drivers are in this one pato award. And that's what they were using at the
10:22moment.
10:22This is the current TPC car. Correct. This is actually faster than today's formula one car.
10:27Is it really? Yeah. Yeah. Quicker laptop.
10:34Brad Pitt history. Yeah. We've got Lando Norris, a few podiums. Yep.
10:38This year, am I right in thinking that the year started very slow for McLaren and then it was
10:44suddenly turned into being the best car on the grid by the end of the season, super competitive. Yep.
10:49And it then evolved into the world championship winning 38. Correct. People, um, say this was the
10:56biggest turnaround in the history of formula one. It started with this car and kind of ended with this
11:02car and then led into the, uh, into the 38. But what the team did to develop this car, uh,
11:07was awesome.
11:08And I think it's going to go down in the record books is, uh, that people say it's one of
11:12the biggest,
11:12uh, turnarounds. It was also our 60 year, uh, birthday party.
11:18And it was code named for the public, I think MCL 60. Correct. Although the internal name from
11:25McLaren was MCL 37. Correct. But the 60 stood for 60th anniversary. Correct.
11:31I know everyone's going to be asking the question of why have you decided to part with these five
11:38amazing cars from the McLaren collection? Um, obviously they've all got such special history in their own
11:44rights. You know, what's, what's the reason that's probably never, uh, sold cars before.
11:50Yeah. And when I got here being McLaren's number one fan and you see what your Ferrari does really
11:58well, right? You've got some awesome people that want these cars and reality is because we'd never
12:03told them we've got a lot of these cars sitting under, uh, sheets, which is kind of a disservice to
12:09our history. Um, they're not going to get used by us. Um, and so, you know, we want people to
12:17buy
12:17these cars. We want people to drive these cars. We want these cars to be seen. We want our history
12:22told. We want people to enjoy them. And we know we have fans, everything from boys and girls that we
12:28want carrying, um, you know, lunch to, to school, to people that are privileged enough to, to own these
12:36and go into collections and museums. And that's a better way to keep our history, uh, alive, uh, let
12:43people in enjoy it. And so we've got a nice heritage business now that we continue to, to build up.
12:49And so this is something that on a very limited basis, uh, we want to do to get these in
12:54the hands
12:54of the right people who can be McLaren ambassadors and such as myself, because I've got a few McLarens,
13:00as you would imagine. And I can tell you, speaking from experience, I've, I've been part of the
13:04McLaren heritage program myself for a while and recently had the day in Barcelona and it was the
13:09most epic felt like once in a lifetime opportunity to be supported by McLaren F1 to have Barcelona to
13:19yourself and just share it with a couple of like-minded car guys. And that is the ultimate
13:25race experience for the ultimate, uh, collector. And I think you want to drive them, you know,
13:30the experience, the speed of these is just what we all grew up wanting to do. And for those, uh,
13:37that
13:37are in a position to do so, it's a, you know, once in a lifetime opportunity. We're not going to
13:42do it
13:43often. Um, but we, we want to have people out in our race cars and create a club and there's
13:49more to
13:49come around, uh, a club we're creating. I'll leave it at that. But you, you know, you look at what
13:55Ferrari's done,
13:55right now in our automotive business, we want to put vehicles in the hands of our best customers,
14:02whether it's a road car or a race car. Well, it's amazing opportunity. As I said, we are super excited
14:08by it. Um, thank you for entrusting us with the task of finding the very best homes for these cars.
14:15You do a great job. We will make you proud. And, uh, we look forward, I guess, to seeing them
14:21all on
14:21the track sometime soon. It's going to be cool. Thank you. Cheers.
