00:00Best Sanding Sponge Blocks Under $5 Script
00:04Everybody's got the drawer full of sandpaper sheets that keep tearing or shedding dust halfway through a job.
00:09So I dug into the Best Sanding Sponge Blocks Under $5, 5 picks, all cheap, all worth grabbing, and I'll
00:15tell you exactly which one to buy first.
00:18Starting with this 18-piece sandpaper set, and this is the one that covers the most range for the money.
00:24You get grits from 400 all the way up to 3000, and they're wet or dry, which means you can
00:29actually use them on a car paint job or a wet surface without them dissolving.
00:33It's $4.65 for 18 sheets across 8 grits, and honestly for finishing work on wood, metal, or edges, that's
00:41the single most useful pack on this list.
00:44Now, this Mirka Abrilon Sponge Sanding Disc is the fancy one.
00:486 inches, hook and loop backing, and grits running from 180 up to 4000.
00:54Abrilon is a foam disc with a cushioned surface that contours to curves and contours in your hand, so it
00:59doesn't gouge a rounded edge or a plastic trim piece.
01:02It's $3.69, it's the highest-rated option at 4.8 stars, and if you do any orbital sanding or
01:09final polishing, this is the one that feels like a real tool.
01:13Third pick is a 20-pack of these little sanding sponges, 30 by 40 mm, with a mixed assortment from
01:19300 to 1500 grit.
01:21Small size is the whole point, they fit inside corners, tight crevices, and tight spaces where a full-size block
01:27can't reach, which makes them great for model cars, window frames, and furniture joints.
01:32$4.90 gets you 20 of them, so you're not replacing one every few minutes.
01:38For the coarse sand, these sanding sponge blocks come in grits from 60 up to 320, and that's where they
01:44earn their keep.
01:4560 grit strips old paint, shapes raw wood, and knocks down drywall edges, and a foam block is way more
01:51controllable than a belt sander for that kind of aggressive work.
01:54This set is $3.41, holds a 4.8 star rating, and it's the one I reach for before I
02:00reach for anything else.
02:02Note, P4 and P5 are near-identical listings, same 60 to 320 grit sponge blocks.
02:09Script differentiates by price and rating angle if one turns out to be a multi-pack vs. single.
