00:01Across France, shopkeepers, businesses and public institutions are still reeling from widespread looting and vandalism which occurred over the weekend.
00:11There are still fragments of glass boarded up shop fronts in the vicinity of this area around the Place de
00:19la République,
00:19with many business owners quite literally picking up the pieces, wondering how they will pay for the damages caused,
00:27when insurances will pay out and whether the government will help them.
00:31Hailing from Bangladesh, Hassan worked as a waiter for years in France,
00:35before he saved enough with his associate to start a courier business and tech shop.
00:41Now, smashed phones, empty boxes from stolen packages and glass lined his shop floor.
00:47As Hassan awaits insurance assessments, he is unable to clean up the mess.
00:52He must also still pay rent, bills and his employees.
01:03The shop was locked ahead of the protests.
01:09When Hassan checked his security cameras on Saturday evening, he couldn't believe his eyes.
01:14Euronews obtained separate footage of teenagers and young adults breaking into his shop for the next door building.
01:20I was also hurt. They were tapped several times on my knees.
01:24And when I came in, they pushed me, I was on the ground.
01:27And then I said, let's go, let's go, let's do it.
01:30Locals have decided to help Hassan's business by setting up a donation platform for him.
01:49The French government, meanwhile, has launched emergency financial aid and structural relief programs to support impacted shops.
01:56Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
01:59Let's go.
01:59Let's go.
02:00Let's go.
