00:01After today's talks in Oslo, do you believe the peace process is back on track?
00:06And what are your expectations when your special envoy, Steve Woodcoff, heads to Russia tomorrow?
00:12Well, I think what's happening is that Russia would like to get it done.
00:19I think that, and you know, Russia's a big machine.
00:22They just keep grinding forward, and that's what they've done.
00:26They've taken a very large piece of land, and, you know, you can say that Ukraine is doing well or
00:34poorly,
00:35but the land gets bigger and bigger all the time, week by week.
00:40It's just, they march forward. They just keep marching forward.
00:43They have an unlimited supply of people, whereas Ukraine, as you know, is,
00:49there's a woman who's, I guess, not exactly a very beautiful woman, nice woman,
00:55and she was on television recently talking about the fact that our men are gone.
01:01She's a Ukrainian woman.
01:02Our men are gone. They're lost. They're dead.
01:05They're in mental institutions.
01:07They're walking around. They have no arms.
01:10They have no legs, in many cases.
01:13They've been hurt so badly.
01:14They've been just decimated.
01:17And it was very poignant.
01:19When I heard this, I said, boy, that's some statement.
01:22And she said, Russia's a very big country.
01:25They can lose a lot of people in a war, and they have lost a lot of people.
01:30They lost 50 million people in the Second World War.
01:33They lose a lot of people, but they're very big.
01:36And she said, they have to settle this war.
01:39Look, Ukraine has lost a lot of people.
01:43Russia's lost a lot of people.
01:45Russia, though, is a giant nation.
01:47Ukraine is not.
01:49I can tell you this.
01:52We've been helping through Joe Biden originally,
01:55and he made a mistake because he should have done it through the European Union.
01:59He should have been paid.
02:00The European Union has quite a bit of money,
02:02although I have to tell you they're getting tired of spending it.
02:05But we gave $350 billion to Ukraine.
02:12And, you know, I insisted on getting something for that money.
02:16And we got a very big chunk of land and rare earth and other things,
02:20if anybody remembers.
02:21Let's see what that amounts to.
02:24But Ukraine has to want to settle this war.
02:27Zelensky has to want to settle this war.
02:29And if he doesn't, I think it's going to be a very bad thing.
02:32Look, we have given tremendous amounts to Ukraine.
02:37We've got nothing back other than high diesel.
02:42We have given probably, possibly more money to Ukraine than almost anybody over the years.
02:51Hundreds of billions of dollars.
02:54We've got nothing back.
02:56And the American taxpayers are tired of it.
02:59We want Zelensky to make a deal.
03:01He can make a deal.
03:03He could have made a deal two years ago when we had our little chat in the Oval Office.
03:07We had a now quite well-remembered chat with J.D., myself, some others, Zelensky.
03:16Could have made a good deal then.
03:17Could have made a much better deal then, probably, possibly, that he could make now.
03:20But he's going to have to want to make a deal.
