00:24I've actually had politicians tell me with a straight face that you have to dispine an enemy when you start
00:34and organize your whole campaign around that because fear and anger are stronger than hope and love.
00:49So I'm tired of politicians picking fights when the voters are trying to pick
00:56what they got to put back on the shelf at the grocery store.
01:05I'm tired of treating our allies like they're dirt.
01:13The Prime Minister of Canada has been a friend of mine for a long time.
01:19We got to know each other having virtually nothing to do with politics.
01:24He's about the most well-qualified leader in the world. He's been head of the central bank of
01:31both the UK and Canada.
01:35And we have the gall to suggest that they should become the 51st state.

02:13that was supposed to help us patrol our border into a group that could go into every community
02:22and try to stir people up and kick people out.

03:12denigrating Muslims for being Muslims.
03:17The Koran says, and I first heard this from my daughter who read the Koran from first
03:23start to finish when she was 15 years old. And she said, Dad, read this.
03:33Allah put the different people on the earth, not that they might despise one another,
03:37but that they might come to know one another and learn from one another.
03:43There are bad actors in every faith because we're all flawed human beings.
03:51But the religious wars, the culture wars, I'm just tired.
03:59But there is a big difference between being tired and being through.
04:09I heard this tonight.
04:15I'm not through trying to make things better. And from what I heard tonight, I don't think you are either.
04:25I'm going to have to really practice now, never to refer to David Jolly as Reverend Jolly.
04:35But I'm here for him and for Gwen Graham.
04:45Because they're in this race for what I think are the right reasons.
04:50To give every Floridian without regard to race, politics, religion, or you name it,
04:56a chance to build a better life for themselves, their children, their state.
05:02And he has the background, the willingness, the ability, and the determination to get it done.
05:09His very first decision was, from my point of view, utterly brilliant when he asked Gwen to join the ticket.
05:22When I first met her, she was nearly old enough to vote.
05:27But she was a good public servant from a family that was very dear to me.
05:36I've served as governor for 12 years.
05:40I thought I had a lifetime job and had not much career mobility.
05:46I loved it.
05:49And I served with about 200 other governors.
05:54And in my opinion, her father was one of the two or three best governors I ever met from any
06:04state and any country.
