00:00At least we were consistent because we continued to raise the same issues we raised last year.
00:06Point 1. Renewal of frequencies.
00:08We are saying how we must not repeat the mistakes made in the past, as the European community is asking.
00:15We are asking for a free renewal of frequencies in exchange for investments in the network, that is, the amount we will spend will be the
00:22same.
00:23We need to figure out whether we have to pay for frequencies and not have the capacity to invest, or vice versa.
00:29Given the importance of mobile infrastructure in the digital future of our country and Europe, the option of ensuring investments
00:37it's certainly better.
00:39The second point concerns electromagnetic limits. We know that today we are at a quarter of the European standard.
00:46Increasing electromagnetic limits means installing fewer antennas and therefore ensuring better coverage.
00:53I don't need to explain to you how installing a new antenna in Italy today is particularly complex.
01:00So working on this element allows us to guarantee coverage, reduce costs,
01:06but also take into account the needs of end customers who want fewer and fewer antennas.
01:11Then there is something that is paradoxical.
01:13We are one of the sectors that spends the most on energy, but we are not considered energy-efficient.
01:18Why? Then when today we talk about digital development, the cloud, and gigafactories,
01:25if we are already in a country where the cost of energy is much higher than in others
01:29villages
01:30and a sector that has to provide digital services is not considered energy-intensive,
01:34It is clear that the services that we will provide to customers will have a much higher industrial cost than those of the
01:40other countries.
01:41Then there is another important issue which is that of fair share, that is, let's try to trivialize,
01:47on a highway, do a Fiat 500 and a truck pay the same toll?
01:55No. So what we're saying is that the big consumers of network capacity
02:02have and contribute to the expenses and investments for the construction of the network.
02:06Finally, the topic of call centers and AI. The arrival of AI, certainly, as well as
02:13the digitalization of many processes puts the use of manpower at risk in call centers.
02:21We are in favor of maintaining jobs, we must however try to find activities
02:27that need to be done. The banal digitization of all paperwork, of all public administration
02:34It's crucial to bring everything into the cloud and digitize everything, but in this we can
02:40retrain some of the call center operators.
02:44Let's say, these are our proposals from last year and we are bringing them back to the table.
02:48this year, are these things out of your mind? No, because reading the draft of the proposal that
02:56will be discussed in the European Parliament, prepared by the President of the European Industry Committee,
03:00Some aspects are mentioned. The first one suggests a renewal of the frequencies for 50 years, even
03:07for a national security issue given the arrival of the satellite world, which is exactly
03:11what we ask for, not in terms of expense, but in terms of network construction. It indicates
03:19as in subjects that have a data volume higher than 2% at European level, to negotiate
03:26an interconnection and the contribution of trucks to the passage of highways. And finally,
03:32something we've been saying for a long time: same service, same rule.
03:38If today you make a call via traditional cell phone, instant messaging or satellite,
03:46This call should be subject to the same rules and today it is not so. How can you
03:51note, the proposals we put on the table are not revolutionary things, it is the realignment
03:57to the normality of what is the activity of our industry.
