00:00The next time you're hosting a dinner party and you want to impress your guests,
00:04make this floral arrangement that looks really pro but is so simple to do.
00:14We're going to make it today in these three ceramic bowls. Now they look quite rustic
00:20but they're going to contrast really beautifully with the design that we're going to make. So let
00:26be using these flower frogs if you can see these. They're tiny little pin cushions and they're also
00:34known as Kenzans in Japanese floristry. They're absolutely amazing and a wonderful way to create
00:41a sustainable floral design without using any foam. So to secure this into a vessel all you need
00:49is a really small amount of this green florist tack, it's incredibly strong.
00:55And then to secure this into the base of your vessel press and twist at the same time
01:03and that will hold really really well and that's all we're going to do in terms of the mechanics and
01:08the flower stems are going to sit on those spikes. So we'll add some water into each of these bowls
01:13and I'm going to create this design all together as one rather than doing each bowl individually
01:19because we want it all to look really beautiful and cohesive together. Okay so let me show you the
01:25flowers that we've got. These are fritillaries and they're a specific variety called Uwe vulpis fritillary.
01:35They're just absolutely stunning. I think they're really unusual and perfect for a spring dinner.
01:41And then we've also got one of my favourite flowers of all time. This is a butterfly ranunculus.
01:48They are so delicate and ethereal and yet they're actually really quite hardy and strong in an
01:54arrangement. I'm going to be removing a lot of these leaves, these outer leaves because they're quite
02:00dominant and actually for this entire design we just want the flowers to be the star. So we'll just place
02:06one central stem and you just push it onto the metal spike and then it holds it really beautifully.
02:15We'll add a butterfly ranunculus to each of these.
02:20I'm adding in an extra colour now which is one of these beautiful kind of lime green almost creamy
02:27white butterfly ranunculus. I've made these designs for weddings before and they just look so striking
02:36when you come into a room and you have got sort of 10 of them along a banqueting table they
02:40can look
02:41absolutely stunning and yet they are really quite simple. We don't want to have a huge amount of this
02:48green stem showing in the centre so we want to make sure we're still varying the heights of the flowers
02:53and having some shorter ones in there.
03:00Obviously these are going to be seen from all angles from all around the table so we want to make
03:05sure
03:05that they're as beautiful on one side as they are on the other so make sure we've got lots of
03:10beautiful
03:10flowers coming out from either side. So I'm just going to get some of these smaller ones
03:16and start to place them slightly lower down. That one is so beautiful.
03:23Keep adding until you're happy with your arrangement and then you will have the perfect spring dining table.
