00:00Otani was the only one who got an F, not because he didn't have a great productive season overall,
00:05which he did. He got an F and Miguel Rojas got an A, so we're grading these things on extreme
00:10curves, I will grant you that. And it might have been a little bit provocative. I think I typed a
00:16C initially, but my point on this, as I've said all year, the thing that mattered this year was
00:21that he needed to be that guy in the playoffs. And the fact that he and the team could not
00:26get
00:27him there, that was a failure on him, on the team, whatever. The fact that he looked the way he
00:32did
00:32in the playoffs, it doesn't void everything else he did this year, but I mean, it kind of does.
00:36All that other stuff didn't matter. Those 10 amazing starts he had as a pitcher at the beginning
00:40of the year didn't end up mattering. But all the stuff he did as a hitter up until mid-August,
00:44the one thing Andrew Friedman pointed to to try to maybe defend what they did, he's like, look,
00:48up until mid-August, he was the MVP front runner, which is true. But all that other stuff doesn't
00:53matter if you can't put it together in October. That's the point that has to somehow get through to him.
