An India Today special investigation by Nitin Jain exposes shocking hygiene violations and regulatory lapses at popular eateries in Delhi's Karkardooma. At Shri Radhe Krishna Food Joint, known for chole bhature, the team found damp, debris-ridden walls, peeling ceilings, and staff sitting on the floor to prepare food. The outlet's owner claimed that an FSSAI licence could easily be procured over the phone or delivered directly to home for around two thousand rupees without any official visiting for physical inspections. The investigation also visited another local establishment, Radhe Shyam Chole Bhature, where staff operated without protective head covers and conceded that pest control measures fail to stop rats from entering the kitchen. Across both establishments, food handlers admitted that administrative inspections and compliance norms were routinely bypassed, revealing an absence of fear of regulatory consequences despite serving hundreds of daily customers.

00:00Our team then had the next stop. It was a very popular Shri Radhe Krishna food
00:05joint in Delhi's Kadhkaduma. Our team found debris on the walls, food
00:09preparation being carried out by people sitting on the floor and serious
00:13questions about hygiene. And when asked about inspections by authorities, this
00:17response suggested that money could take care of just about anything. What
00:24exactly did our team uncover here at this spot? Take a look.
00:43Piping hot chole with fluffy bhatude. Swarms of customers waiting to get their
00:48hands on their order. This is the very popular Shri Radhe Krishna food joint in
00:55Delhi's Kadhkaduma. Known for its chole bhatude but now also known for its poor
01:01hygiene standards.
01:05Damp, moisture ridden walls.
01:16Debris falling from the ceiling and staff preparing food on the floor. This is the
01:30disturbing reality inside. Is there any accountability? Not really. As the owner of
01:37this food joint tells us all it takes is a few bucks.
02:08What about the
02:11inspections and meeting food safety guidelines? Not something that any of these eateries
02:17have to worry about, it seems.
02:41It's just a few things.
02:43And the people who say that you can wear a cap, a pen and all that you can do, how
02:50do you do it?
02:51How do you do it?

03:13They'll come in.
03:14They'll come in.
03:17And then they're not wearing the cap?
03:19It's a real deal.
03:26In the same neighborhood, we then visit another eatery, Radhe-Sham-Chole-Bhatore.
03:34And unsurprisingly, we find no head covers, no pest control.
03:42The eatery confesses, nothing can be done to stop rats from entering the kitchen.
03:57So, in the starting point, we need to go to the house.
04:01We need to make sure that someone is going to make the main care.
04:05And they're taking medical tests.
04:11I was in the position of hygiene management, so I am going to make sure that they are being clean.
04:17Pass control is a good for you.
