Victoria’s Secret issued a statement addressing Romee Strijd’s criticism over a miscommunication surrounding her 2026 Fashion Show casting, providing its account of the timeline. The company, via a statement shared by Vanity Fair, said casting director Piergiorgio Del Moro told IMG on September 6 that Strijd was not cast for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Strijd said she did not attend the Victoria’s Secret casting until September 10 and had been on option since early summer. She said rejection was not the issue but that clear communication was expected after preparation and planning. She told the outlet she asked IMG for clarification but had not received an explanation. Strijd shared the experience on TikTok on Oct. 12 and said she will not cast anymore.
