coffee's hot, headphones on, and here's a sound note on The Sea God's Disguise: Fishing for Love.
There's almost no score in this show. What replaces it is weather and kitchen noise. Waves at the harbour. Oil in a pan. Rain on a window.
When the household argues, the sound stays domestic — cups, chairs, a kettle. When he's alone, it opens up to the sea.
That's the whole character in the mix. He's background noise in their lives, and they're background noise in his.
The last episode strips the house sounds out entirely. Just water. I had to sit still for a minute after that.
✨ What worked for me:
- No music cue tells you how to feel. You decide.
- The absence of score makes the argument scenes louder.
✨ Bottom line: put headphones on and watch it once that way.
Did anyone else notice the missing soundtrack? I thought it was a defect at first.
