00:00Listen, the Canes team is one of the best teams in the country. We know that. They're talented. We know
00:04they're talented. They've played absolutely nobody and beaten absolutely nobody. And it was a travesty that they had to go
00:09to double overtime and get every single benefit of the doubt call at home to beat a really bad Florida
00:15State team.
00:16And I know it's a rivalry game, but it was a rivalry game that I thought they were going to
00:19go out there and beat the crap out of them. That said, you know, they're celebrating the 2001 national championship
00:26team today, which is emotion, et cetera, at home as your number one in the country.
00:32It doesn't have the same feel as it did back at the Orange Bowl back in the day, but they've
00:37covered eight out of 10. They should pound a Pittsburgh team. I don't know what to make of this team
00:43because they should have lost.
00:44They haven't played anybody. And I want to ask you this, Kevin, you and I have discussed this every week.
00:50There's a spot out there where Mario Cristobal is going to lose them again.
00:55It almost happened last week, but now that they survived that one, where is that spot? Because that was the
01:03only close game. And this would have been the, you said it, it's going to happen. So where is that
01:09spot?
01:10I'm, I'm, I'm actually really, really, I'm really glad you asked. Um, because I, I, my honest answer is it
01:18was last week. That was the game that, that was the loss. That was the game that they absolutely like,
01:25if they were going to lose, that was it. And I know people will think to themselves, but it's not
01:32like they were, you know, down a hundred or anything, you know, like that in the game.
01:37This was a situation where they were down in the fourth quarter. Florida state got the football back in the
01:46fourth quarter, right? Yeah. Um, got the football back in the fourth quarter with the lead.
01:55Thank you very much. And yet when it got to overtime, I, and it was a shame for FSU. They
02:03didn't get the ball first because basically what they needed was the opportunity to, to do the Will Stein.
02:09They needed Miami to get it first score. They would have kicked the extra point. They would have, and then
02:14for Florida state to score and then just go for two. And that was, so I now, as someone who
02:21played in Miami, one total under even, I still think that they'll lose to Notre Dame.
02:25Um, I, now maybe I'm wrong, but like I'm laying, I'm laying it with Miami today here, Dave, because I
02:31basically feel like Miami, when I say they lost that game, I do not mean Michigan, Western Michigan.
02:38What I mean is that was the game. I don't know how, I don't know how you feel about it.
02:44They escaped, they escaped the game that you all thought Mario would give it away and, and, and lose to
02:49a team. That's not that good. And it was the spot. It was the rivalry game right there at, at,
02:54at Miami.
02:55And they won it. Now you still got North Carolina on the schedule. You still have other teams that can
03:00beat them, not name Notre Dame. So there are options for them to pull a Mario, but maybe you're right.
03:05Maybe they got over that hump and it's going to come down to, again, Miami versus Notre Dame should be
03:11a game for all the marbles. It no longer is because both teams are going to make the playoff. It
03:15is. We're not going to go back to that conversation.
03:17You still got Virginia tech on the schedule. You still got Boston college on the schedule.
03:20The one thing that bothered me the most about this game last week was the defense. Like you should allow
03:2835 points to anybody on this schedule. You're supposed to have a top 10 defense in the country.
03:32The offense, no one surprised they score 43 points, but how are you allowing? And I understand some of it
03:38was an overtime.
03:38How are you allowing this many points to a Florida state team that has not done this this year, if
03:44your name's not Virginia. So that's what disappointed me. And, you know, I came out of that game thinking, what
03:51is the Notre Dame line? That's what I want to bet.
