00:01Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets of Paris today as part of
00:06major demonstrations against the cost-of-living crisis, rising fuel
00:10crisis and the broader student movement. These protests come a week after peaceful
00:16demonstrations were overshadowed by violence last week. This time around the
00:21government implemented a strict security protocol, meaning that the military was
00:26even deployed outside some strategic sites in Paris. This also comes as the
00:31government has blamed the hard left France Unbao Party and Jean-Luc Mélenchon
00:35for what it says is stoking violence. La France Insoumise France, the France Unbao Party
00:41denies this.
Ils
00:52cherchent à nous discréditer.
00:54Students told Euronews that they remain determined to keep protesting and
00:58would not be deterred by last week's violent scenes.
01:02Ils veulent pardon qu'on ait peur.
Donc si on commence à aller
01:09dans leur sens, ça va abouiller à rien.
01:11S'il n'y a pas de manifestation, il n'y a pas de casse. Donc à un moment donné,
01:15la solution,
01:23la police broke out later on Saturday across the country, including in cities where protests
01:28were banned.
01:28C'est-à-dire que les démonstrations restent.
