Terra Told's untold-history documentary series continues with the strangest naming accident ever recorded: how the morning star became the devil.
Lucifer means "light-bringer" — the Latin name for the planet Venus. So how did a planet become the devil's name? The trail runs through a Hebrew taunt against a Babylonian king, a 4th-century translator in Bethlehem, one word left untranslated in the 1611 King James Bible, and a blind 17th-century poet. And the devil's other name, Satan, was never a name at all — it was a job title.
