00:01Introducing first, and accompanied by James E. Cornette.
00:05Weighing in a total of 641 pounds,
00:11the mighty Yokozuna.
00:15And here he comes, watch this,
00:19watch this reaction, a standing ovation.
00:22Here we go.
00:2437 pounds, the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels.
00:40Shawn Michaels, one-on-one against one of the men who he threw over the top rope.
00:46The win, the Royal Rumble, Yokozuna.
00:52Talk about Karoza, talk about resilience.
00:55You have to give credit to Shawn Michaels coming back and
00:59doing the impossible, winning the Rumble.
01:01Well, you can give him your credit, McMahon.
01:04I'm gonna save all my credit for Jim Cornette.
01:07What do you mean?
01:07Because he has got to be the master strategist.
01:13Because as long as Shawn Michaels has fought his entire career to gain
01:18that title shot at WrestleMania, now,
01:20Cornette has, well, he's persuaded him to put it at stake against Owen Hart.
01:26Shawn Michaels has never backed down from a challenge from anybody.
01:31Look, there's Tammy Faye Baker's cousin.
01:34What?
01:36You know what Tammy Faye Baker and
01:37Michael Jackson have in common?
01:39I have no idea.
01:39Neither one of them ever let anybody see him without their makeup.
01:43Please.
01:44Shawn.
01:46What's this?
01:47Shawn Michaels asking this capacity crowd what they think of, uh-oh,
01:54Yokozuna and what they think of him.
01:59Yeah, his fans worship him and so does he.
02:02No, I don't know about that.
02:03I don't think Shawn Michaels really takes himself seriously.
02:05But right now, Michaels is definitely taking Yokozuna seriously.
02:09And why not, considering what Yokozuna did to his own compadre earlier on?
02:14The British Bulldog still suffering the effects of that leg drop.
02:19Although that could have just as easily been Big Daddy Cool Diesel.
02:22Michaels against this monster.
02:25The biggest man in the history of the World Wrestling Federation.
02:28And I would suggest that before this night is over,
02:30you're gonna see Shawn Michaels get squashed by that leg.
02:33Look at that.
02:33Do it now, do it now.
02:34Look at him, bounce off the mat.
02:35Shawn Michaels in trouble.
02:37Just as he is likely to be when he steps into your house, ladies and gentlemen.
02:41Look, look, look, look.
02:42He's a little woozy hit on the back of that head.
02:44Michaels against Owen Hart.
02:46And Cornette, if you missed us last week,
02:48goaded Michaels into accepting the challenge of putting up the WWF title match
02:52at WrestleMania up on the line against Owen Hart.
02:55If Owen defeats Shawn Michaels, it's Owen Hart going to WrestleMania.
03:00That's right, man.
03:00Michaels is a fool to ever go for that.
03:02Well, that's just how badly, my goodness, how badly Shawn Michaels wants to get even with
03:06Owen Hart.
03:07Imagine Owen taking sweat for knocking Michaels out of action.
03:10Would you something Yokozuna might do tonight?
03:11Oh, wait a minute.
03:12Look at this.
03:13My goodness, yeah.
03:15Michaels peppering Yokozuna Hart right here.
03:17Shawn Michaels hammering away.
03:19Shawn Michaels, what tremendous athleticism there.
03:21I thought for sure we're gonna see that super kick, and Yokozuna is on the outside.
03:27Look at Michaels.
03:28Look at Shawn.
03:30Only one man can do that in the WWF and get away with it.
03:34Yeah.
03:35He hasn't gotten away with it yet, McMahon.
03:36This match is not over.
03:37Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
03:38Wait just a minute.
03:40Cornette, who earlier on in the matchup with the British Bulldog brought down Yokozuna.
03:45And now in this matchup with Shawn Michaels, Cornette is bringing down Owen Hart,
03:51the very man who will face Shawn Michaels in your house on pay-per-view.
03:56Things are fixing to get real interesting, McMahon.
03:59Yes, well, just how interesting.
04:01Stay with us, ladies and gentlemen, and we'll all find out.
04:05We're back with more Raw.
04:07Shawn Michaels, and look out, here he comes.
04:08My goodness.
04:10Yokozuna charging Michaels and missed.
04:12Michaels now with one leap on the top rope.
04:14Michaels down across Yokozuna.
04:16Double axe, Michaels quickly going right back upstairs.
04:18Shawn Michaels on the top, high-risk maneuver.
04:21Yeah, moonsault.
04:23One, two, and he got him.
04:24No, he left shoulder barely up.
04:27Wow.
04:28And Shawn Michaels with his agility, taking it to Yokozunas.
04:32We take another look at it now, this double feature maneuver.
04:34Moonsault.
04:35Yes, clever maneuver.
04:37However, back to live action.
04:38My goodness, up and over.
04:40Michaels in trouble on the outside now.
04:42Yeah, you better raise your hands.
04:43You better stay away from him.
04:44Well, he's not gonna touch him.
04:45Wait a minute, Cornette.
04:46Cornette's going over to the official.
04:48Cornette climbing now up on the apron.
04:49Come on, no.
04:50From the heart.
04:51And Hart kicking Shawn Michaels in the ribs.
04:54I told you, Cornette is the smartest manager in the World Wrestling Federation.
04:57No, no, no, no.
04:59No.
05:00Michaels rammed into the ring post down on the floor.
05:02That should do it.
05:05Michaels overcoming extraordinary odds, returning to the Royal Rumble, returning to action.
05:10But what can Michaels do to overcome these odds here tonight?
05:14Michaels, I guess not one but two, this is a handicap match, that's what this is.
05:18Well, what did I tell you?
05:20Cornette is smart.
05:22Shawn Michaels might be counted out, although you can never count this man out,
05:26no matter what the odds are.
05:28One thing about Shawn Michaels, he just keeps coming right back, getting right back in your face,
05:33and Michaels trying to beat the count.
05:34And Yul goes in and just interrupt him.
05:36Come on, we're behind the game.
05:38Owen Hart with another cheap shot.
05:39Cheap shot.
05:42You don't look like you're enjoying this very much, McMahon.
05:44It's not much of an athletic contest for one-on-one, I've really been enjoying it, but no.
05:48Owen Hart on the outside, I mean, this is, we said before, this is a handicap match.
05:53Michaels won the Royal Rumble against all odds, but his odds aren't too great of winning this match in the
05:59official, continuing the count.
06:01Hey, in the Royal Rumble, he won over 29 superstars, and there's only two out here.
06:06Uh-huh.
06:08Michaels attacked on the inside by 641-pound Yokozun on the outside by the man whom he will face in
06:15your house,
06:16if in fact he is able to, Owen Hart.
06:18That's where Michaels will put up his opportunity to go to WrestleMania and face the WWF Champion.
06:23And look at this, gallantly, Michaels coming right back into the square circle, snap right down, however.
06:29Yokozuna now, leaning on that, massive.
06:31Yokozuna doesn't do it, you know I will.
06:34You heard it, didn't you?
06:35Yeah.
06:36Yokozuna doesn't do it, Owen Hart will.
06:39That remains to be seen.
06:41Look at the size of Yokozuna.
06:42You know he was voted the favorite superstar by the Dallas Cowboy offensive lineman.
06:47They all wanna be as big as Yokozuna someday.
06:51Yokozuna, as big as any two of them put together.
06:55Yokozuna against Shawn Michaels.
06:57And Yokozuna using his girth, using his weight to his advantage.
07:00Leaning down on the shoulder area of Michaels.
07:02Michaels getting back up on his feet.
07:04Michaels trying to find a measure of escape, turns into an elbow.
07:08Another one.
07:10Michaels, somehow, has broken the hole.
07:13Michaels now coming off the rope.
07:14Yeah. Underneath the roundhouse.
07:15No.
07:16Wow.
07:17We're gonna see it, McMahon.
07:18I can tell.
07:19The end of Shawn Michaels.
07:21Michaels had a concussion before.
07:22But when Yokozuna drops that huge leg on him, he'll never give up.
07:26Give him the leg.
07:27Stay with us for more action.
07:29Here comes Yokozuna.
07:32So close.
07:32Michaels moving out of the way.
07:34Just in the nick of time.
07:35Yokozuna trying to demolish Shawn Michaels.
07:37Can't believe it.
07:38He had him, McMahon.
07:39He had him.
07:39Yeah, right.
07:40The athleticism of Shawn Michaels keeping him alive in this matchup.
07:44Shawn Michaels pushing his capacity ground.
07:47Get him quiet, Cornette.
07:49Michaels, back up on his feet and Yokozuna's in trouble.
07:52Michaels now to the outside.
07:53Shawn Michaels, trying to get upstairs.
07:55This is a dumb move, but dumb move right here.
07:58High risk maneuver.
07:59Michaels now, leaping in.
08:03No, no.
08:06Michaels with a high risk maneuver that backfired right there.
08:09And now, Yokozuna can polish off Shawn Michaels.
08:13Yokozuna can do exactly what Jim Cornette wants him to do.
08:16He can injure Shawn Michaels.
08:18Making certain that Michaels will cough up that number one spot of contention for
08:23the title of WrestleMania to Owen Hart.
08:27Yokozuna making his move now.
08:30Michaels stirring on the far side.
08:32Yokozuna back to his feet.
08:34Michaels tremendously resilient.
08:36But this will take Michaels to the test as perhaps never before.
08:39Get him, get him.
08:40Now back up.
08:41Knock on block.
08:42Yes.
08:42Right in.
08:45Michaels pips the jaw again.
08:47Where does he get the strength?
08:49Michaels with another right hand.
08:51And Shawn Michaels is a little bit wobbly, but nonetheless, not as wobbly as Yokozuna.
08:55Michaels trying to set up the gargantuan 641 pounder.
08:59Three muscles coming up.
09:00Yeah.
09:04Yokozuna is still on his feet.
09:06Yeah.
09:07He goes down.
09:09I can't believe what I'm seeing.
09:11Here we go.
09:12Yes.
09:13Michaels.
09:14Boom.
09:15A kick to the side of the head.
09:16Shawn Michaels with an opportunity to end this.
09:19Michaels to the outside again.
09:21Shawn Michaels from the top.
09:24No.
09:24He's got him now.
09:26No.
09:27No.
09:30Michael, hammered, flashed in the corner.
09:32Wait a minute, what's this?
09:33Cornette's got the referee again.
09:35No.
09:36Here comes Owen Hart from the other side.
09:39Owen Hart clipping the jaw of Yokozuna.
09:41What have you done Owen?
09:43Some chin music.
09:44Cover.
09:45One, two.
09:46Check out.
09:47Yes, yes, yes.
09:49Shawn Michaels.
09:53Shawn Michaels once again.
09:58Overcoming, overwhelming odds.
10:01Michael victorious.
10:04I said she.
10:05Shawn Michaels meets Yokozuna.
10:09And Jim Cornette is beside himself.
10:14Cornette.
10:15My goodness, wait a minute.
10:16Get in there Cornette.
10:17Stop this.
10:19Cornette.
10:21Representing Vader throughout a 24 hour career.
10:25Amazing.
10:26And then earlier we saw the British Bulldog.
10:28Hey, here he is.
10:28His effort to defeat Diesel backfired when Yokozuna dropped the leg.
10:32And here's Yokozuna's effort to defeat Shawn Michaels backfired when Owen Hart came in.
10:39So there's dissension among the ranks with Yokozuna and these two brother-in-laws, Owen Hart,
10:46and Davey Boy Smith, the British Bulldog, and Cornette better get control of things.
10:51It's the time to join forces.
10:53Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
10:53You got four against one.
10:54Wait a minute.
10:55That's exactly what we're gonna have now.
10:57Now you're going.
10:59Yokozuna, all the way out of the British Bulldog, are gonna go after Shawn Michaels.
11:03Wait a minute, no, no, no, no.
11:05Here he comes, Big Daddy Cool Diesel.
11:08Wait.
11:08Steps right up, yeah, and steps over the top rope.
11:11Yeah, look at this now.
