00:00We designed these upholstery buttons so you can 3D print them in the colour of your choice.
00:05We have made several sizes.
00:07The diameters are 1.5, 2, 3 and 6 centimetres.
00:13We also designed a 3 centimetre button with a lace.
00:17The backs are designed to fit Aster buttons with a wire loop.
00:21They come in three sizes, 24, 28 and 44 lines.
00:27As you can see, there is a recess in the back of each 3D printed button.
00:32This allows the raised profile of the Aster metal back to fit neatly into place.
00:38You can attach the metal back to the printed top using contact adhesive as I show you here.
00:58Make sure both surfaces are thoroughly clean before applying the adhesive.
01:06Steering piece of paper and extend medio.
01:08I am ready to move all that.
01:11I am ready to move all the edges for the printing.
01:52Alternatively, you can use super glue.
01:54Be careful not to get it on your fingers.
01:57If your fingers stick together, follow the glue manufacturer's instructions for removing
02:02it safely.
02:15If you are making the button with the lace, cut the end of the lace at an angle so it
02:20can
02:20pass through the holes in the button.
02:21On the back, trim the lace, fold it over and secure it with super glue.
02:55I'll see you next time.
03:05Use a pin to hold it in place if necessary.
03:28Use a pin to hold it in place if necessary.
03:37I now use a cable tie to demonstrate how strong the bond is on the buttons attached with contact
03:43adhesive.
03:44As you can see, the bond holds firmly.
04:08And just to be thorough, I also test the buttons attached with super glue.
04:12These hold firmly too.
