00:00Hello America! My name is Blossom C. Brown and this is Miss Blossom's Corner.
00:11Growing up I always knew that that's what I was meant to be. I knew it in my heart, I
00:17knew it in my spirit.
00:19Just being able to act it out though was a difficult thing.
00:23I just knew that I wished so much that I was a girl, but I didn't know that there was
00:28a term for it.
00:30In order to access the forehead and then the parts of the jaw that they're going to work on, they
00:34have to stretch skin.
00:38I knew a good portion of the reason why I did not get in was because I had completely started
00:44coming to school as a trans woman.
00:46I did the best that I could, but I just kept getting no, no, no.
00:54When a black man is murdered by police, how we as a collaborative of all black people, whether you're cis,
01:02you're trans, you have to come and shout Black Lives Matter.
01:05Black Lives Matter!
01:09But when a black trans person is murdered in this country and there's nothing but radio silence from our black
01:19cis brothers and sisters, we need to be doing so much better.
01:23We got to learn how to bridge this gap of accepting no matter what.
01:27I want to be empowered to be in certain spaces that we're not allowed to be in as a trans
01:32person.
01:32I want to be empowered to do the best job that I can do.
01:35By the way, I want to be empowered to do the best job.
01:40We'll see.
01:40So in the beginning of the year, we've gathered up a lot of people who are taking care of and
01:41to dance and family.
