00:00By the way, I don't know if Cuno's aware of this.
00:02He probably is.
00:03This is a big time of year because the McRib is available in select stores
00:08starting this week, and I imagine Cuno will be celebrating
00:12that first Dolphins victory with a McRib.
00:15You get it with or without pickles, Cuno?
00:19Without onions, without the McRib portion, without the bread,
00:24without the box, without the stuff at Mickey D's.
00:27That's how I do it.
00:28I don't believe you.
00:30You're telling me you're not going to get a McRib?
00:34What's so hard to believe?
00:36Have we met?
00:38Is this the first day?
00:40Do I recall properly when he had the McRib on our show?
00:43He loved it?
00:45No.
00:46No.
00:47That was Tuan.
00:50I think a pale Tuan hated it.
00:54He held in like a pale Tuan.
00:57He took the Jimmy bite.
00:58The Jimmy empanada bite.
01:04The sip.
01:05A bite sip.
01:07Cuno, let's talk about it.
01:09The Dolphins, in my opinion, did what they needed to do.
01:12It was show improvement.
01:14Show that coming off a bye week, you can look good in both the ball
01:21and put together enough to get a victory.
01:24They did.
01:25And so you've got to feel good, right?
01:28Yeah.
01:29I don't think there's any problem with like Dolphins enjoying the win.
01:35Like, why are you watching?
01:41You're watching for the improvements.
01:42You're watching for the future.
01:44You have to learn to win.
01:45You can't put in all this work from Monday to Saturday
01:49and get losing results.
01:51There has to be a payoff at the end of this at some point.
01:54So, yeah, they did a really good job.
01:56I really like the way Malik Willis played.
01:59I thought he leaned on his athleticism a little more,
02:03and I think that's okay.
02:04If it's there to run, go run.
02:07Hit what's open downfield for you.
02:10Throw the short stuff if you have to.
02:11There's nothing wrong with that.
02:13Just get the ball in your playmakers.
02:14You saw him do to Caleb Douglas.
02:15And let them do the heavy lifting for you.
02:18I thought it was a really good game plan,
02:20and it was a positive to see them finally get to celebrate.
02:24And, Mike, everybody talks about after the bye week
02:26and, you know, now Halfley has, you know, extra time ready.
02:30Did you see?
02:47He was making them and just, again, I think it was allowing the game to, like,
02:52sort of come to him and then just, hey, if there's a lane to run,
02:55he actually tucked the ball and ran with it as opposed to maybe trying to force
02:59some of these throws.
03:01The thing that stuck out to me, and I'm sure it was a clip that got played a lot,
03:05was Bobby Slowick this week saying all 11 guys in the passing game weren't,
03:10you know, in the first five games weren't on the same page.
03:13And I think you saw that a lot in the Bengals game when Malik threw those two picks.
03:18I think maybe those opportunities, you know what, three or four yards.
03:23Don't force it.
03:26You have to have the playmaker or the expectations.
03:29You have to have the ball.
03:30You have to make those type of plays and give what the defense does.
03:53Did it three or four times in a row and the Jets couldn't stop it.
03:56It was good to see them execute the simple things.
03:59And I think that's what you take away from this game is when they were able to
04:02execute the simple things, all of a sudden everything else starts to fall in place.
04:05And part of that, Cunho, is I think, you know,
04:08I struggled to find the identity of this team through the first five weeks.
04:11Like, I just wasn't really sure what their identity was.
04:14And exactly what you're saying to me, they're starting to prove that physical nature
04:20that Halfley and Sullivan talked about prior to the season is finally kind of
04:25showing its face.
04:27And exactly how you described it,
04:30Ollie Gordon being able to run over 100 yards.
04:33And Malik Willis not afraid to get into the end.
04:36Fourth down conversion to win the game.
04:39Like, they're becoming a physical team,
04:41which is what we all wanted to see after five years of a team
04:45that couldn't be finished.
05:04Giving them belief and confidence in themselves that they can go out and do it.
05:08Like, hey, you've taken it this far.
05:10The running game, you know, Ollie has 103.
05:14Malik Willis has 38 yards.
05:15Some of those are designed runs, too.
05:17So it wasn't just him scrambling and running for his life.
05:20There were draw plays in there for Malik Willis and some designed runs.
05:24So it's...
05:27I think once you see that young offensive line,
05:29you can believe they can do the thing.
05:32Ball around, back, and then Halfley gives them that option at the end.
05:37Let's go win this right there.
05:39Like, that game could end up a lot different.
05:41We could be saying how can he run in that spot because of the young old.
05:44So that's a big stride for them.
05:47And, Mike, we see Caleb Douglass.
05:52Then he comes back and hits him for another 170-something-yard touchdown.
05:58Can I get my hopes up about Caleb Douglass or he had two good games?
06:03Well, he's had two...
06:05I mean, look, three games, right?
06:08He got...
06:12In the preseason.
06:14To me, I take away that he stayed in bounds, which was great because that was a problem in the
06:18preseason.
06:19And I think in the Raiders game, he kept stepping out of bounds near the boundaries there.
06:25Yeah, look, it is what it is.
06:28He's your best receiver, right?
06:29I mean, Malik Washington can do a lot.
06:31He's maybe your most trustworthy player on the offense.
06:34But it's okay to say it's your best wife.
06:54A lot of things for you.
06:56But when you need the big play, there Douglass was.
06:59And we saw that one-handed catch in Washington and some other plays early in the season.
07:04And that's going to continue to grow.
07:06But you say, hey, two games and this is what he's done.
07:09Just keep feeding him.
07:10See what happens.
07:11If the ball's in his hand, he can make plays.
07:13Just keep going to him.
07:14What do you have to lose?
07:15Caleb Douglass better than Jalen Waddell already.
07:20Listen, I have to admit, I don't know what Jalen Waddell has done this year in terms of stats and
07:24numbers.
07:25But every time I'm at my computer, I keep seeing a tweet of Jalen Waddell is being walked to the
07:30locker room or has limped off the field.
07:32I don't know what's going on.
07:33I mean, I don't know what's going on there with him.
07:37But I don't know how much production he's giving them.
07:41But I just keep seeing tweets that he's giving them.
07:43Nothing.
07:43He's giving them nothing.
07:45Yesterday, he had four receptions for yards.
07:49Yeah.
07:49That's not what he's done.
07:52The only nice second is because you literally just said in your last answer, you were like, just get the
07:58ball to Caleb Douglas.
07:59He'll make something happen.
08:00Did you see the one-handed catch?
08:01I don't recall ever in, what was it, three seasons with Waddell saying, hey, just get the ball in to
08:10Jalen Waddell.
08:18Well, they certainly got a lot for it.
08:20But, I mean, to Jalen Waddell's credit, there was also a number of other playmakers on that team.
08:26He was contending for targets with Hill and that run game early in the McDaniel era was actually really good.
08:33And then Waddell was kind of like, you do get the ball in his hands.
08:36He can make a big one.
08:38I'm not sure if he's like the profession, high-volume type receiver like Jarvis Landry was here.
08:43I'm not exactly sure what Denver was in that, but he's still a good player.
08:47I mean, he is one of the fastest players in the league, but it's a shame it just hasn't shown
08:52up there in Denver.
08:53Yeah, I'm on Team Caleb Douglas on that one.
08:58Did you personally, because you work around these guys, you're at the facility all the time, did you feel good
09:03for Jeff Hathaway?
09:04He got the win.
09:06He's not going to have to answer questions this season about potentially going winless in his first season.
09:13Did you feel good for him personally?
09:16Yeah, you know, on the level of him doing it at home, and he grew up watching Ryan's games.
09:25He's from the area that he was in the press conference.
09:28He used to be a little bit of a bus, a opposing team.
09:32It was just fantastic for him to have.
09:56I am just being like, I told you, like, this would come around and start to build on stuff.
10:00Speaking of Cunho, those rookies, the season was like, evaluate the rookies, evaluate the young guys,
10:07and find more building blocks around Aaron Brewer, Devon.
10:16Are you ready to put Caden Proctor in that conversation already?
10:19Like, who else are you ready to put in that conversation?
10:24And say, for sure, the spot for this player on this team is going to be a competitor.
10:44I think they've hit on a number of these guys, and they're only going to get better.
10:48They will still.
10:49I had to check myself in the middle of our show yesterday because I was getting all excited about the
10:53win,
10:53and, like, these guys, I even audibly said it.
10:56But, all right, let's take it down a notch because we have to remember these are still rookies.
10:59There's still 11 games left.
11:01They are going to make some mistakes.
11:03But, yes, I think there are guys where you can go Proctor, Rodriguez, Chris Johnson, Kayla Duck.
11:09These are pieces that now, you know, all right, we can go now.
11:14Like, we see this.
11:15We see the vision.
11:16These are the guys.
11:17And there's more in there.
11:18You know, they're still learning and growing.
11:19I mean, you hope some of the second-year players are also that, the Kenneth Grants, the Dante Traders, like
11:25Ollie Gordon.
11:26You know, you see the youth there and the guys they've kept around, and you see why they're still here.
11:33And, Mike, to that same conversation, what about the pass rushing?
11:36I think that's one of the things that they have to address now or in the draft is, you know,
11:40Chop had him one late.
11:42But are you seeing that progress, not just he had one sack.
11:44He's getting, you know, markedly better in this field.
11:49Yeah, we've had a couple of games where the pass rush looked good or they're getting the tackle for losses.
11:53The goal line stand was really good to see.
11:56But they do need, there needs to be another premier pass rusher there on the edge for the Dolphins.
12:03And I think you can probably find that in the draft or free agency.
12:07The money's going to start to open up next year and the year after.
12:10So those are those things.
12:11Maybe you go out and spend, but they don't like the mercenaries.
12:13They've said it.
12:14You know, they want to build it up.
12:15So I think, man, if you're not the first or second pick and it's not a quarterback and it's not
12:22Jeremiah Smith,
12:23I think premier pass rusher is where you go in this draft.
12:27Michael, was it hard for the next team?
12:55You know, 20 veterans on this team that you go, I'm like, oh, those are the guys.
12:58You have like five or six where you're like, these are our leaders.
13:02These are our camp.
13:02This is the type of blueprint player, you know, in terms of mental makeup, toughness, maturity,
13:08that they want to build this team out to be like.
13:12And Seeler is like the poster child for that.
13:15So could I see a team obviously come in and knock on the door for him?
13:19Yes, he's a very good player.
13:20But I could also see the Dolphins saying, we're not parting ways with these guys because we still need these
13:24guys to help develop this next generation of Dolphins.
13:30And Seeler says he wants to win here.
13:32So you have a guy who wants to be here in Miami when they're going through this, if you want
13:38to call it, I would use the door.
13:41So, you know, I know business to me, I want a sense for moving on from him as well.
13:52Cunha, are you scared of what's going on with the heat through three games?
14:00Oh, I'm.
14:11But I am worried.
14:13It's more so, I think defensively, I think I would like to see more.
14:17Like, it's one thing to wonder, hey, how's this all going to fit offensively together with these guys?
14:22But I just want, like, the heat right now, I know it's only three games, but they're like bottom five
14:27in points allowed in scoring right now in the league.
14:30That, to me, is where you go, this should at least be better, considering the matchup challenges that Bam and
14:37Yannick should be.
14:40That's where I'm worried.
14:42I think the offense will verify.
14:43I need that defense to do it.
14:51What could go wrong with the heat and the Dolphins?
14:54Okay.
14:54Yeah, I heard it, buddy.
14:56Yeah, I heard it.
14:57I heard it.
14:58Concept.
14:59I heard it.
15:02Okay.
15:03You got me.
15:04You got me back.
15:05Listen, you were pretty harsh on the rest of each, so I got you.
15:10Make sure you cut off proofs of concept, Jimmy.
15:19I need to lose your number.
15:24We'll see you, Cunha.
15:27Bye, guys.
15:32How are you going to hit him with the proofs?
15:34Like, every relationship I have, I always just ruin it at the end.
