00:00A UN Commission group of independent experts has accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza despite a ceasefire agreement last
00:08October.
00:09The Commission found that Israeli forces continued attacking densely populated areas with heavy munitions and sniper fire.
00:17And in the West Bank, the Commission said Israeli forces committed crimes against humanity, including torture and rape.
00:25The Commission says the situation in the occupied West Bank has also deteriorated sharply.
00:31It says six Palestinians were killed in airstrikes between 2008 and October 6, 2023.
00:38That figure rose to 254 in the period from October 7, 2023 to the end of September this year.
00:45The report also found that Israeli authorities have used settler violence to target Palestinian civilians.
00:51The harm has also come in the form of Israel's expansion into Gaza.
00:56Since the ceasefire was signed, Israeli forces have gone from controlling 53% of Gaza to at least 60%.
01:03The Commission also investigated the use of lethal force against Palestinians approaching or crossing the so-called Yellow Line,
01:11which marks areas under Israeli military control.
01:14It says at least 196 Palestinians were killed near the line between October 10 last year and early April this
01:22year,
