Lion sisters give birth to a dozen cubs in Dortmund zoo

Saba and Zuri, two lionesses at a zoo in Dortmund, have given birth in quick succession, populating the lions den with twelve cubs. Zura gave birth to five cubs on July 28, with her sister Saba followed suit with seven cubs three days later. The lions' enclosure has now been re-opened to the public, and visitors young and old have delighted in the cubs playing under the watchful eye of their doting mothers. Saba and Zuri feed both their own cubs and each other's, not distinguishing between the offspring.
