00:02Last month Liz Cullen injured her knee, falling to the floor in excruciating pain.
00:08Immediately I was in tears because it was 10 out of 10 pain as far as I thought.
00:14She called an ambulance. It took 12 hours for a solo paramedic to arrive in a four-wheel drive.
00:20By that stage I was willing to get to hospital any way I could.
00:24He and Ms Cullen's daughter used this office chair to wheel the 63-year-old outside before hoisting her into
00:32the car.
00:33She arrived to busy scenes at Rockhampton Hospital.
00:36It was just stretchers and ambulance people lining both sides of the room and down the hallway.
00:42Further north, Cannes resident Jill Nell says she feels lucky to be alive after her wait.
00:49Two weeks ago the 71-year-old went to an urgent care clinic unwell at night.
00:55I went in to see the doctor and he took the blood pressure, my blood pressure, and it was 220
01:01over 100.
01:03And I've got a nursing background so I knew that was really, really high.
01:07With the 71-year-old in danger of life-threatening complications, the doctor called triple zero.
01:14Still waiting for an ambulance more than two hours later, he drove Ms Nell to hospital himself.
01:20I'm very grateful to be able to be sitting here telling you my story, Emma,
01:24because I am critically aware that there are people who haven't made it and it's their loved ones that are
01:30telling their stories.
01:31An ambulance spokesperson says both patients were triaged based on the information provided
01:37and received appropriate clinical oversight during very busy periods.
01:42These cases have come to light after Brisbane man Nick Bradford was found dead in his home hours after calling
01:50for help.
01:51Despite its pre-election promises, ambulance ramping has yet to meaningfully improve under the LNP.
