00:00So during the season, if it happened and you don't address it, that's when it becomes a problem.
00:06I know you're not in the clubhouse, but you are a keen observer.
00:09You're watching what's going on from a distance.
00:11You probably read some stories.
00:13You know, a couple of the former great players have mentioned a lack of accountability that they see from the
00:19Yankees that they don't really own their mistakes.
00:22Have you noticed that at all with this Yankee team?
00:25I mean, there were a couple of goofy plays in the postseason, and it seemed to me that there were
00:30excuses made rather than, you know what?
00:32I screwed up and won't happen again.
00:33I don't know.
00:34What do you think?
00:36John, it's tough to know what's going on when you're not there.
00:40Especially in the playoffs, you're going to see everything so, you know, it's so big when you don't cover second
00:45base or when you, you know, you don't cover first base or the pitcher doesn't cover first base or, you
00:50know, you're not backing up a base.
00:52All that thing is magnified during the playoffs.
00:55So during the season, if it happened and you don't address it, that's when it becomes a problem.
01:02You know, it needs to happen more during the season and make these guys more accountable.
01:06You didn't run to first base.
01:08Get them out of the game.
01:10Make them, you know, understand that this means something.
01:15It's not a game.
01:17It's really a job, and some guys are not doing their job.
