00:00music
00:36The wrestling fans, it is the team of TimeSplitters Version 2.
00:41And no, that's not Alex Shelley you're looking at.
00:43That is the prodigy Nick Wayne.
00:46Don in the denim tonight and fighting alongside Kushida.
00:50Two and one record in this tournament.
00:52Four points on the board.
00:54The team that scored a win over Kukai and Master Watto just yesterday in Corcoran
00:58Hall.
00:59A two-match streak could extend to three if these two men can find the win over Ry
01:04Usuke Teguchi and Kazuma Sumi.
01:16Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the guy that Chabattuto Chris Jericho due
01:21volte.
01:21That's Italian for a big Chris Jericho twice.
01:24Yeah, that's true, that's true.
01:29I know you've been in a fair share of AEW locker rooms recently.
01:33I'm sure you haven't been able to stop hearing about it.
01:36Oh yeah, definitely.
01:37I mean, I wouldn't stop talking if at 21 I would have been Chris Jericho twice.
01:57Nick Wayne and Kushida four points on the board and taking on one of the most unique teams that
02:04you are going to find in the entirety of Block A for this year's tournament.
02:36Thank you.
02:48DDT Universal Champion Ryusuke Takuchi
02:52And the man who Takuchi defeated
02:54For that DDT Universal title
02:56Back at Wrestle Peter Pan in August
02:58Kozumasumi
02:5923 years of age
03:01Has been proving himself a hell of an asset
03:03Takuchi Alongside
03:05Only two points on the board for the duo of Sumi
03:09GoGo
03:09I'm not really familiar but what's the other belt
03:27That is a
03:29I believe a Ryusuke Takuchi
03:31PR belt
03:32Oh public relationship
03:34Yes, of course.
03:35I kind of like his new costume though
03:40There's something about it you gotta appreciate right
03:42And you know it comes when you get paid the big bucks
03:44When you're the DDTUniversal Champion
03:47That's why
03:57First time tag team matchup
03:59That we're gonna see here tonight
04:00Ryusuke Takuchi and Kazuma Sumi
04:02On the bubble of elimination
04:03If SumiGoGo loses this
04:05Semi-Main event match
04:07It is all said and done
04:09For Team DDT tonight
04:13And Takuchi is going to entrust
04:15That's the starting position
04:15For the 23-year-old athlete
04:18Kozumasumi
04:22The Prodigy
04:23Park Wayne
04:24And the TimeSplitters
04:25Beats two corner
04:26The bell sounds
04:26And it's wonderful
04:2830-minute time limit
04:30Akira let me ask you something
04:31How often have you been
04:33Beaten for a championship in your career
04:35And you immediately go to the man who beat you
04:37And say hey you want to team together in a tournament
04:39I would never tag with
04:41Moloney or Clark
04:42I lost the tag titles to them
04:45So I don't know
04:46They must have some sort of secret agreement
04:49To It you know
04:50It's just it's such an interesting relationship
04:53You know you'd think that losing a championship
04:55To especially an outsider from DDT
04:57And a New Japan star born and bred
04:59Here in the dojo is Taguchi
05:00And you'd think that that would fire up Sumi
05:03Frustrate Sumi a little bit
05:05But no I think Sumi's been doing a great job
05:07And learning underneath Taguchi
05:08And really kind of taken to the King of Comedy style if you will
05:14And fair play to him probably
05:16At his young age that's
05:18The better choice to take
05:21Wow
05:23And Sumi this is a
05:25Difficult man to try and keep up with
05:27It's an easy man to throw around
05:28If you can get your hands on him though
05:30As Nick Wayne had the cover not even a one count
05:32And we are back to the separation
05:35You know Nick is tall
05:36Yes he is
05:37Big boy
05:39You can easily
05:41I wrestled him before and he's really strong too
05:43You know
05:46Size difference even as
05:47Junior heavyweights five foot three inches tall
05:50Is Kazuma Sumi Nick Wayne
05:51Six foot one
05:53It's a good bit of difference there but
05:55What's that in Europe?
05:57I have no idea man I couldn't tell you
05:58Let's say he's 225 cm
06:01Oh that's pretty tall good lord
06:06Taguchi and Kushida a lot of history
06:09Between these two men
06:11Bone battle for junior titles in the past both singles and tag team
06:18You talk it earlier on about Master Watto having a variety of different partners over the course of the
06:24years
06:24Ryusuke Taguchi being one of them
06:26Taguchi has also had a lot of different partners in Super Junior Tag League
06:29I mean everyone from Clark Connors to Kazuma Sumi
06:33And even Kushida you know he changed partner every year basically
06:36Okay, okay, okay
06:39I think it's so great to see especially for members of Hontai you know Ryusuke
06:44Taguchi and Kushida
06:46They're focused on investing in the future of New Japan Pro Wrestling
06:49And that even goes to maybe even El Desperado
06:51That's why he chose Masa Toriasu to compete alongside Mystico in this tournament
06:56It's certainly a similar idea here for Taguchi and Kushida
07:01Albeit one of them an outsider in DDT another in outsider in AEW
07:05And I appreciate it because you know it's passing their knowledge into the younger generation
07:13That's a beautiful bow and arrow hold being applied for Kushida Taguchi
07:17Taguchi out for the cover in a count of one
07:21And back to the break again
07:22Akira you've been in the Japanese wrestling system for a long time
07:30You had your run in all Japan Pro Wrestling
07:31You're here in New Japan Pro Wrestling
07:33You know how often have you seen a lot of veterans come and go
07:36They kind of gatekeep their knowledge right
07:39They don't want to pass it on to this younger generation
07:41And Kushida and Taguchi being as selfless as they are
07:43Teaming alongside Wayne and Sumi
07:45I already think that Wayne and Sumi have improved greatly
07:48Just being able to share locker rooms with these men
07:50Oh yeah 100%
07:51And you know like it happened to me
07:52It happened to me before too
07:55Like I was able to get some knowledge from Tajiri
07:57Right
07:58You know he's a guy that always tried to tell me
08:01But you know you go to veteran you ask for advice
08:04And they just don't want to tell you
08:06So they will just tell you the easy answer
08:09Because obviously they don't want you to steal their spot
08:12Right
08:13But I think Kushida especially
08:15What he's doing right now
08:17We're traveling around the world
08:19You know wrestling in all such random places
08:23I think he's passing the knowledge
08:25Not only in Japan
08:25But using in Japan
08:27It's important
08:28Right
08:29This is the cover for Nick Wayne
08:31In a count of two says referee Marty Osama
08:34I feel like Kushida is doing again an excursion on his own
08:38You know another excursion through the world
08:41But this time to show his knowledge
08:43To show the New Japan way
08:45To another wrestler
08:46I think that's a great point to make
08:48Oh it's
08:48That left arm is just ripped over the top rope there
08:51There's some of that knowledge on display
08:53Kushida at a count of two
08:55Of course you know this very well Akira
08:59Kushida is going to soften up the arms
09:01Is going to try and set up for the hoverboard lock
09:03As we get deeper into this match
09:04And that hoverboard lock
09:06Is certainly aided in Kushida winning many tournaments
09:08In his case
09:09Yeah
09:11People might forget now
09:13Because you know
09:14People might say they kind of slow down
09:16But he
09:18One of the greatest juniors of all time in my
09:21You know
09:22I grew up watching him
09:24And even Will
09:26Himani Romu
09:30And now Nick is learning from him
09:32So what a great spot
09:34Tag made
09:36Here comes Nick Wayne
09:37Legal into this fight
09:40Of course it's the former tag team partner of Kushida
09:432012 Super Junior Tag Team Tournament winners
09:45Were Kushida and Alex Shelley as the TimeSplitters
09:48And Alex Shelley of course had a great hand in training Nick Wayne
09:52Back in his childhood
09:53So Nick Wayne has spent a lot of time really idolizing the team of the TimeSplitters
09:57I mean he's really living a childhood dream
09:58Competing with Kushida
10:01That's been the motivating factor for these men to
10:04Keep this run rolling in Super Junior Tag League
10:07And it's brought them to the four point mark already
10:13You know
10:14You know he's a confident guy
10:15He's a cocky guy
10:16You know
10:16He just beat Chris Jericho twice
10:19That's true
10:21But Taguchi doesn't care
10:28Ryusuke Taguchi with a funky weapon shot
10:30And out of the red corner
10:32Here comes the 23 year old DET Pro wrestling star
10:36That is Kazuma Sumi
10:38Sumi
10:40I feel wall
10:41I feel old Walker
10:42Talking about 21 23
10:44I'm just 26
10:46I hear ya
10:47Not too far behind you
11:12I think the Young Lion took the most out of it
11:15maybe so you got to break him in somehow
11:23Kazuma Sumi wrestling with a lot of confidence that you wouldn't expect out of a young
11:28a artist
11:28first time competing outside of the DDT system in a tournament
11:33every other tournament that Sumi's been in has been a part of DDT Pro Wrestling's roster
11:38Sumi up to the middle rope
11:40oh Nick Wayne though Nick Wayne may be younger than Sumi but he has about a decade more of
11:46experience
11:48Pro Wrestling going through the veins of Nick Wayne from his father Buddy Wayne his grandfather
11:54and all the way up and down that tree it is Nick Wayne making the attack with Kushida
11:58and look at the master at work here
12:11Kushida knows the rules of Pro Wrestling very well he will never break it
12:15you know he will go very near to him
12:19It's so interesting
12:21Kushida is such a hard man to game plan for
12:23because you know he's going to look for that hoverboard lock later on
12:26but it's not just the arms that Kushida is going to focus on
12:28he'll target the legs if he wants to he'll target any part of you
12:31whatever it takes to walk away with the win
12:33of course within the confines of the rules
12:41big chop to the chest there for Kushida and Sumi
12:47easily the smallest member of the Super Junior Tag League Tournament this year is Kazuma Sumi
12:55that means he's going to be easy to throw around
12:57and those throws are going to feel a lot worse than usual
13:00you know I've been in that spot before too
13:02when I first joined Old Japan Pro Wrestling
13:05I was the skiniest guy in all the company
13:08and like you either take the fall and stay down
13:12or you either fight back as hard as you can
13:16Kazuma Sumi has shown that he can keep fighting and fighting
13:19until the bell sounds at the very end
13:21but there's only so much that your body can take
13:24and Sumi has really been putting himself through it this tournament
13:27Push!
13:28Oh!
13:29Man!
13:40Listen to the sound of those chops from Nick Wayne
13:44echo throughout the arena here in Ibaraki
13:48Now Wayne and Kushida
13:50Squirrel Down Shum
13:51Sumi kind of escaped out the back there
13:54Sumi wants the tag from Taguchi
13:56Taguchi's not in position just yet
13:57and that's Wayne and Kushida keeping control
14:01Sumi
14:01Oh!
14:02try to go through the doggy door
14:04and implemented
14:05Nick Wayne sent away to ringside
14:07and the tag
14:09Here comes Taguchi again
14:15Akira
14:16you've been in the ring with Ryusuke Taguchi so
14:18so many times in your career
14:21so unpredictable
14:22you never know what Taguchi's gonna do next
14:25You know you have to go
14:26you have to watch for his ass
14:29He has a pretty hard ass
14:31That's very true
14:34He's not a pretty ass
14:35Yeah, that's true as well.
14:38Just right
14:39you know he probably just squats every day
14:41all day
14:43Oh!
14:47and Taguchi is flying
14:49With us guys here tonight
14:50Nibaraki
14:53fighting for something a little bit deeper
14:55Sumi and Taguchi are right on the
14:57end of this tournament
14:59they have to win this match to stay alive
15:11Taguchi and Wayne now center of the ring
15:15Suplex snaps down for Taguchi
15:19and going to keep the motion rolling here Akira
15:26Oh!
15:29and that dragon screw on Nick Wayne
15:31going to do the damage
15:32And here we go
15:33Yomai and Gar ankle
15:34the ankle lock locked in on Nick Wayne
15:37Oh!
15:38two submission specialists and action
15:41yeah whether it's the ankle or the arm
15:43Taguchi knows his way around
15:45every single one of them
15:48What the hell?
15:52who knew Ryusuke and Taguchi had that in him?
15:54that's almost 30 years of experience
16:01and here comes Kazuma Sumi now
16:03far less experienced than Taguchi
16:05but a lot of heart
16:06a lot athletic ability
16:08and hold it on display right now
16:10over the top here
16:10and Kazuma Sumi's on the run
16:13Wow!
16:16and into the stay
16:18No!
16:20still not enough on Wayne
16:30Kazuma Sumi striking in combination there
16:32doing a hell of a job of keeping Nick Wayne in a bad position
16:36but right now
16:37it's all about making sure you can score the three count
16:39and Sumi wants to set up
16:41but it's going to be blocked here by Wayne
16:48Tagged from behind
16:49Kushida your residential man
16:50Sumi doesn't know it
16:51There's the stunner
16:52and caught out of mid-air
16:53out of mid air
16:54and into the cross arm on Sumi
16:57and thank god Taguchi is in to break that one up
17:01There's great tag team action
17:02and it's going to keep it rolling here
17:05watch it
17:06front chancery neck snap dress
17:08and into the drop kick
17:09that is classic time splitters
17:11I've seen this before
17:13It's always effective
17:17turning back the clock over ten years ago
17:20Nick Wayne and Kushida
17:22look to recapture former glory
17:24as time splitters V2
17:31Look at this
17:32and stereo
17:35crushing the body of Sumi
17:38no
17:39and Sumi out at two
17:42What a great fight
17:43What a great fire from him
17:49there's a reason that Kazuma Sumi
17:51was the lone star
17:53selected
17:54from DDT Pro Wrestling's roster
17:56to compete in this tournament
17:58and looking for a breakout year
18:00watch it Nick Wayne over the top
18:02Now Take Sumi
18:02Enter the cover here
18:03with Kushida
18:05oh no no no
18:06rolls one more time for the cover
18:09Oh and it's two
18:13Kazuma Sumi nearly scored the biggest win of his career there
18:17and might take another
18:23and a funky weapon from Taguchi
18:25Roundhouse from Wayne
18:28and Sumi
18:30poison rata
18:33Oh but Kushida
18:35striking while the iron's hot
18:37Taguchi and Shida down
18:42incredible action from all men
18:52you know I had Nick and Kushida winning easily now but
18:58I might be wrong, I might have been wrong
19:03Kazuma Sumi making a tag in the corner to Ryu Skate to Gucci
19:06and the only certainty that we have is that whoever wins this one
19:11is going to be well earned
19:13Here we go
19:13Bombayay
19:17Cover here for Taguchi
19:18no
19:22kick out
19:23that does not mean Kushida's in the safe zone
19:25it is that Omai and Gar ankle lock in the center of the ring
19:29oh and Taguchi's got the ground hold
19:31Here we go
19:31give up
19:35Kushida may be forced to tap here Akira
19:37this is a bad place to be if you're Kushida
19:43Wait a minute, Sumi
19:44Sumi with the assist
19:48that might be, that might be
19:49oh and Taguchi, Taguchi the Omai and Gar ankle
19:53Kushida's going to have to tap right here
19:56And here comes Nick Wayne
19:58the knockout shot on Taguchi
20:07this action is so hard to keep up with but
20:09every Marty Asami's got a keen eye on the job Taguchi and
20:13Kushida all alone inside that ring right now
20:15time to put it away Taguchi
20:17And it might be coming here
20:19No Tag, no victory wall, Kushida, Kushida
20:23no
20:32Oh and there you go
20:35thread the needle right there and Nick Wayne back in
20:38Wayne's World
20:39Kushida, come on, come on, come on
20:49Nick Wayne and Kushida looking to keep the winning streak rolling from 2-0 to 3-0
20:54and Imanaki
20:57He's going to break his arm
20:59and that hoverboard lock locked in
21:01on Ryusuke to Gucci, Nick Wayne playing great defense
21:05wow
21:06Oh man
21:19oh Sumi rolls right through Taguchi with a roll up
21:22Taguchi with a roll up
21:24Taguchi's done it
21:26Four points on the board
21:28for Sumi Koko
21:29For now, I
21:54We'll decide on the Soup Gold.

22:23People are able to participate at all times.
22:28Those who don't know if they're coming should ask those who are coming to let them come.
22:29To those who are able to go to them
22:54There's an event happening before the dots.
22:57Nick Wayne and Kushida...
23:00Midways is also true,
