00:05Trinidad and Tobago's netballers were greeted with rapturous applause upon returning home from
00:09Barbados. The Calypso girls were unbeaten in their World Cup qualifiers, which saw them booking
00:14their tickets to next year's prestigious tournament in Australia. The team members were honored at
00:19the Piacco International Airport VIP lounge for the sacrifices made, bringing joy to the people
00:24of the Twin Island country. According to TNT captain Khalifa McCollin, the team deserved to be
00:30recognized for attaining glory on the big stage. We come to training for four days a week. We put a
00:37lot into it. And again, as I mentioned, I think a lot needs to go into this program. We would
00:45have
00:45just came out of CAC Games, just finished again with a gold medal from the World Cup qualifiers.
00:51So, I mean, as much as we expect results, I think we need to support our athletes moving forward.
01:00The World Cup is not an easy feat. It's a lot of hard work and dedication.
01:05Netball Trinidad and Tobago president Debbie Anne Francois said the players deserved to give
01:10themselves a round of applause for shining in a competitive tournament. And she made it clear
01:14that TNT wouldn't be heading to Australia just to make up numbers.
01:17Ladies, our journey is not over. Let us build on this achievement as you continue to support red,
01:24white and black with pride on the world stage. You have made us proud. Enjoy this moment. Because
01:30of you, we have earned it. We have once again put Trinidad on the map and we have shown them
01:35that we
01:35are coming to Sydney 2027 ready to take what we have to take.
01:42TNT won all their seven games at the World Cup qualifiers, which included a tough 43-38 victory
01:48against the USA.
