00:06For two and a half years, one of the most influential writers in Marvel history
00:11has been quietly reading the scripts for Avengers Doomsday.
00:15Not as a fan, as a consultant.
00:18His comic is the blueprint for the entire finale.
00:21And right now, Marvel is showing the world a Thor shot
00:25that one well-known scooper called a decoy, a trick of the edit.
00:29So what is real here?
00:31What isn't?
00:32And what does it tell us about the movie arriving December 18th?
00:36To understand why this news matters, start with who Jonathan Hickman actually is.
00:41Hickman wrote Marvel's Fantastic Four, Avengers, and New Avengers runs.
00:46And then, the 2015 Secret Wars.
00:50The story where the multiverse finally collapses
00:52and Doctor Doom stitches the wreckage into a world called Battleworld.
00:57And here's the part that matters most for these movies.
01:00The idea of incursions, two universes drifting into each other,
01:05with one forced to die so the other can live, is his creation.
01:09As Nerdist put it when this news broke,
01:12the entire multiverse saga leans on his work.
01:15Fans already knew the Russo brothers planned to adapt his 2015 version of Secret Wars,
01:21not the 1984 original.
01:24What nobody knew was how close he was to the process.
01:28Then, in an interview with Bleeding Cool ahead of his appearance at Luca Comics,
01:32Hickman said it plainly.
01:34He consults for studios and reads almost every movie they develop while it's still in development.
01:40For Doomsday, he's been reading scripts for about two and a half years,
01:44and he described a major turning point when the Russos and writer Stephen McFeely came back
01:49and Robert Downey Jr.'s return was announced.
01:52He has not seen a final cut, but he has seen work in progress,
01:57including footage before any CGI was added,
02:00which he said he had never experienced before.
02:03Reports indicate his consulting covers Secret Wars as well.
02:07Now, look at the names around this film.
02:16Some fans are already predicting a $3 billion run.
02:20That's a prediction, not a fact, and nobody can promise it.
02:24But it's hard to find a more serious group of people behind a comic book movie.
02:28And honestly, that's why every small detail in the marketing suddenly feels loaded,
02:34which brings us to a certain rainbow bridge.
02:36If you think this is the strongest creative team Marvel has ever put behind a film,
02:41hit that like button.
02:43It helps more than you know.
02:44Here's the scene tearing the fandom in half.
02:47After a baseball-themed teaser during the World Series,
02:51Marvel released a 30-second TV spot.
02:53It opens on a long-haired, bearded Steve Rogers telling Thor they're leaving.
02:58Steve holds up Mjolnir and asks whether this bothers Thor.
03:02It does.
03:02Then comes the rainbow shimmer of the Bifrost, the first time it has appeared in the promotion.
03:08That's when James Mack, a scooper with a solid track record,
03:12claimed the Bifrost was an effect added just for the advertising
03:15and that the real mode of travel would be a TVA portal.
03:19You'll also see people online saying he later admitted he was wrong.
03:23In the coverage we could find, there's no clear public retraction,
03:27so treat that part with caution.
03:28But look at the shot itself.
03:30Thor is visibly using Stormbreaker,
03:33the axe that lets him summon the Bifrost,
03:36the same power that carried him to Wakanda in Infinity War.
03:40Would Marvel build and polish a sequence like that purely to mislead people?
03:45That would be an expensive decoy.
03:47The simpler explanation is that Steve and Thor really do ride the Bifrost somewhere,
03:52and a TVA portal shows up in a different scene.
03:55So where does the Bifrost go?
03:58The TVA exists outside normal space and time,
04:01and as far as the MCU has shown,
04:04the Bifrost is a bridge between places, not between dimensions.
04:08So the destination probably isn't the TVA.
04:12One compelling theory points to New Asgard.
04:15Think about Thor's second teaser.
04:17It shows him with his daughter, Love,
04:20then cuts to a private prayer to his father,
04:22begging for strength to survive his next battle and come home to her.
04:26Some fans read that as a hero saying goodbye.
04:29The theory goes that Thor brings Steve to New Asgard,
04:33warns his people that a final threat is coming,
04:35and entrusts Love to others.
04:37Valkyrie would insist on coming along,
04:39and Thor would refuse.
04:41Then comes the prayer.
04:43There's even a speculative idea that Love's health is tied to the multiverse's collapse.
04:48To be clear, that last piece is pure speculation.
04:52Nothing official supports it.
04:53Then comes the second leg of the trip.
04:56Mack said back in July that Steve and Thor travel to the TVA
05:00and discover that Doom destroyed everything there.
05:03Another scooper, Majestic underscore UCM,
05:07said they arrive too late,
05:09leaving them to witness the aftermath of the tragedy.
05:12And the theory is that Steve has a way in,
05:15a TVA card from Loki.
05:16So the journey could be two steps.
05:19Bifrost to warn Asgard,
05:21then a portal to the TVA.
05:23Plausible, but unconfirmed.
05:25Oh, and the internet has another idea.
05:28After that spot,
05:29GamesRadar highlighted a fan theory that Loki is impersonating Steve,
05:33pointing to the way Steve turns when Scott calls him Cap,
05:37and to a smile that looks very Loki.
05:39It wouldn't be the first time Loki wore Cap's face either.
05:43So here's my question.
05:44Where is Thor taking Steve?
05:46New Asgard?
05:47The TVA?
05:48Or somewhere nobody has guessed?
05:50Drop your theory in the comments.
05:52I genuinely want to read them.
05:54Let's talk about the X-Men,
05:56because the roster tells a strange story.
05:58The announced Doomsday cast includes Kelsey Grammer,
06:02Patrick Stewart,
06:03Ian McKellen,
06:04Alan Cumming,
06:05Rebecca Romijn,
06:06James Marsden,
06:07and Channing Tatum.
06:08But as far as announced casting goes,
06:11Halle Berry's Storm,
06:12Anna Paquin's Rogue,
06:13and Famke Janssen's Jean Grey are missing.
06:16So are some of the heavy hitters fans expected.
06:19One explanation comes from the leaks about the film's opening.
06:22According to a Russian Telegram leak covered by ComicBookMovie.com,
06:27Doomsday begins with an incursion between the Fox X-Men's universe,
06:31Earth-100005,
06:32and the world of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man.
06:35Deadpool and Wolverine fight Spider-Man in the rain near a ruined Daily Bugle,
06:40while Magneto drops bombs to destroy that reality and save theirs.
06:44Deadpool and Magneto escape.
06:47Wolverine and Spider-Man are left behind.
06:49A different version of the leak says Wolverine sets the device himself and stays.
06:54That's brutal.
06:55But it's exactly how Hickman's incursions work.
06:58Save one world or lose both.
07:01Here's where it gets interesting.
07:02Max said in February that Spider-Man and Wolverine do not die in Doomsday,
07:07adding that some rumors are meant to divert real information,
07:11and a popular theory is that the missing X-Men died on similar missions to destroy other Earths,
07:17perhaps shown in flashbacks.
07:19If so, the Doomsday story may not be finished with them.
07:22One rumor suggests Doom, ruling Battleworld,
07:26could bring back characters killed by incursions,
07:28but not those who died naturally.
07:30That's a theory with no solid confirmation.
07:34Treat it as speculation.
07:35What about Secret Wars?
07:37Insider Daniel RPK reports that the original Fox X-Men will return in Secret Wars.
07:43Max says Cyclops, Magneto, and Gambit will appear there too.
07:48My Time to Shine Hello has claimed Halle Berry's Storm returns,
07:51and Berry's own answer when asked was,
07:54you never know.
07:55Meanwhile, Marvel's new X-Men are arriving,
07:58with Sadie Sink's Jean Grey introduced in Spider-Man, Brand New Day.
08:03Reports say she helps restore everyone's memories after Battleworld.
08:07Reports on the fates of Professor X and others' conflict,
08:10and none of it is confirmed.
08:12If you're enjoying this breakdown,
08:14a like on this video goes a long way,
08:16and subscribing keeps these coming daily.
08:19Now, here's the debate.
08:20If Doomsday kills off or sidelines half the Fox X-Men and Secret Wars brings them back,
08:26is that clever storytelling or a way to have it both ways?
08:30Which side are you on?
08:31There's one more absence that feels almost impossible to explain.
08:36America Chavez,
08:37a character whose literal power is punching portals across the multiverse,
08:41isn't in the announced Doomsday cast from March 2025.
08:45Scooper,
08:46my time to shine hello,
08:48said she won't be in Doomsday,
08:49and may not have an important role in Secret Wars.
08:53Xochitl Gomez said she's excited to see what's next for the character,
08:56but gave nothing away.
08:58And when we last saw America,
09:00she was training in the mystic arts at Camartage.
09:03The odd thing is how useful she'd be to Doom.
09:07Portals are her power.
09:08But Doom opens portals by himself,
09:10and reports of his scenes in Endgame Encore show him collecting people that way.
09:15So, he may not need her.
09:17There's still a way back in.
09:19America trained under Wong,
09:20and Wong is expected in both films.
09:23A mention,
09:24a cameo,
09:25an appearance on Battleworld.
09:27All possible.
09:28But for now,
09:29her absence is a real surprise.
09:31What do you think?
09:33Could America Chavez show up in Doomsday?
09:35And would Doom ever need her?
09:37Tell me in the comments.
09:38Hickman's Avengers books also featured Black Panther prominently,
09:43which fuels a new rumor.
09:44Black Panther may play a large role in Secret Wars.
09:48Here's what's confirmed.
09:50At San Diego Comic-Con 2026,
09:53Marvel announced that David Johnson,
09:54from Alien Romulus,
09:56will play T'Challa II in Black Panther 3,
09:59set for December 15, 2028.
10:02Letitia Wright and Winston Duke return too.
10:05According to insider Daniel Richtman,
10:07Johnson makes his MCU debut in Secret Wars,
10:11and leaked concept art reportedly showed a new Black Panther on Battleworld.
10:16All unconfirmed.
10:18Shuri's fate is another open question.
10:21Outlets have raised the possibility that she could die in Doomsday,
10:24but that isn't established.
10:26If it happens,
10:27it could clear the way for T'Challa II.
10:30Or,
10:31it might not.
10:31Finally,
10:33the question everyone asks,
10:35when do we get a real trailer?
10:37According to insider Hablemos de Cine,
10:40a new Doomsday trailer is expected between November 10th and 25th.
10:44Marvel hasn't confirmed a date.
10:47After a string of teasers and TV spots,
10:49fans have been vocal about wanting a full trailer,
10:52so the stakes are high for whenever it lands.
10:55So,
10:56here's where we stand.
10:57A comics legend is inside the process.
11:00A Bifrost shot that may or may not be a decoy.
11:04Mutants vanishing and maybe returning.
11:06A multiverse hero missing in action.
11:09And a trailer that could change everything.
