00:05Hey guys, I'm Hannah and this is Test Lab where we put the internet's craziest
00:09trends to the test. Today we'll be experimenting with three different dry
00:13shampoo methods. We've got our store-bought dry shampoo, the OG Johnson &
00:18Johnson's baby powder, and to make things a little bit interesting we've got a DIY
00:22dry shampoo which is made up of cocoa powder and cornstarch. Let's get started.
00:29I am so excited because I'm here with Candice who has never used dry shampoo
00:35before. Yeah, first timer. First timers. And you are doing none other than the
00:41store-bought dry shampoo.
00:49Finish up. Shorts all the way through. Okay, so final thoughts. How do we feel
00:56what do you think about it? Final thoughts. It felt really good going on. It
01:01definitely felt dry. It's not sticky. There's no residue. I'm not sure if there's
01:05any change in how oily it feels. I mean, I hadn't washed it in a while and I think it
01:10still looks a little bit oily but I would try it again.
01:19When was the last time you washed your hair this week?
01:21Probably three nights ago.
01:24Are there types of dry shampoos that you would gravitate towards?
01:27Not particularly. Nothing really beats drugstore-bought baby powder in my opinion.
01:33I mean, what are we waiting for?
01:34Let's do this. My hair desperately needs it. So, I usually just focus on the roots.
01:40Okay.
01:40And just like do a little bit on my hairline.
01:50There we go. Oh, I feel like I missed the back a little bit. I actually enjoy the smell
01:54of baby powder. I know that it probably makes me smell like a baby butt, but I'm okay with that.
01:59As amazing as this stuff is, I feel like one of the only downfalls is time. You have
02:05to really spend time, especially if you have dark hair, you have to really spend time massaging
02:08it into your scalp.
02:09Yeah. I feel like with regular dry shampoos, I'm not a fan personally, but I will say that
02:15the time getting ready is shorter.
02:18Yeah.
02:18Because you can literally just spray it like that and be good to go.
02:21I think your hair looks great.
02:23I'm glad that this has been a tried and true formula for you for so long.
02:27Everyone use baby powder. I promise it works.
02:30Oh, yeah. You look like a million bucks.
02:33And you only cost 99 cents.
02:42Our third and final guest, my friend Annie Georgia Greenberg, who will be making her very
02:48own DIY dry shampoo. Some people like to know exactly what it is that they're putting in
02:54their hair.
02:54It's just these three things.
02:55That's just these three things.
02:57Yeah. I definitely put chemicals in my hair regularly.
02:59Me too.
03:00That's the difference.
03:01Okay. Do you want to do it?
03:02Yeah. What's the formula?
03:04Super simple. Same ratio of cornstarch to cocoa powder.
03:09I'm just eyeballing it.
03:11And then five drops of lavender oil.
03:14One, two, three, four, five.
03:18I'm really not a really good mixer. This is kind of why I don't do DIYs because I can't
03:24just stay inside the lining.
03:25I think it's good.
03:26Now, for best application, they say to use a brush.
03:30Okay.
03:39I think it did absorb the grease.
03:41Would you do this again?
03:42I would definitely use dry shampoo again.
03:44I don't know if I would go through the steps of making it myself.
03:48But for anybody that, you know, wants to know what is in the products that they're using
03:53and using all natural products.
03:54And when I say it out loud like that, it really is like convincing me that I should do it
03:58again.
03:58So how does this compare to the dry shampoos you normally use?
04:02This one, the color works, and it's giving me that grit.
04:06Whether or not it'll clump up or shake out later on is yet to be determined.
04:12You smell great?
04:14You look great?
04:19All in all, we've got three solid options.
04:21If you want to go to the store and buy your favorite dry shampoo, they work really great.
04:25Or if you've got five minutes to spare and there's baby powder lying around at home, that's great too.
04:30And if you're feeling a little bit crafty, you can make your own dry shampoo and it works really, really
04:36well.
04:37So there you have it.
04:38You never have to wash your hair again.
04:40Thanks so much for watching and we'll see you next time.
