00:31What's your advice?
00:33It's hard to really say how do you build subscribers because it's really about having a relationship
00:37with them.
00:38No different than having a relationship with someone else.
00:41You have to nurture them.
00:42You have to constantly keep in touch with them.
00:44And it just seems like every year there's something new that's being added onto the social
00:49media platform.
00:49So I always have to get on it.
00:51So what's the new thing now?
00:52It's Vine.
00:53Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
00:54Vine is big now.
00:55But for me, I don't know if I really want to use it because I already make videos.

01:03How do you think, you know, there's so many people doing YouTube videos now.
01:07You were one of the first, if not the first, to really build a name for yourself.
01:13How do you think people can do that for themselves?
01:16How do you find your voice online?
01:19I think the most important thing is figuring out what your vision is.
01:23So let's say you love nail art.
01:25You're a nail girl.
01:26Try and find a medium that's more visual, like Instagram, Vine even, blogging, and YouTube.
01:33And telling a good story.
01:34Telling a story that's genuine and something that they can relate to.
01:37What would be three YouTube beauty dos?
01:40Always have really good color clarity.
01:42Meaning that if you're filming your beauty tutorial, you want to make sure you have good lighting.
01:46If you don't have good lighting, at least sit in front of a window with a nice bright sun.
01:50Number two, audio is really key.
01:52To me, there's nothing worse than bad audio.
01:55And I know like some people can't help it, but the best way to have good audio is to isolate
01:58the sound.
01:59Maybe put foam boards in your room, or if you're doing a voiceover, cover yourself with a blanket.
02:03And then you can basically isolate the sound.
02:06And number three, really just keeping it really authentic.
02:11I think it's really important that people are filming something that they genuinely feel like represents them as a whole.
02:18Whether they're filming in their bedroom or their living room, something that's real, that real girls can relate to.
02:23Do you read negative comments? How do you deal with the inevitable people who are mean?
02:27Well, I mean, I'm always reading comments, so of course I always come across them.
02:31But again, not everyone's going to love what you do, and you can't sulk on that.
02:35You build a thicker skin when you tell yourself that this is what I'm doing.
02:40It's just all noise, and you just have to cancel it out.
02:42What are three beauty products that every girl absolutely has to have?
02:45For sure, lip gloss, because lip gloss is sexy, and it's fun, and it's glamorous.
02:51Mascara opens up the eyes, and concealer.
02:56Again, especially this day and age, everyone's always online, and we're all getting dark circles together, so we have to
03:01cover them up.
03:02Alright, so if you're trapped on a desert island, nowhere to go, what are the two things you bring with

03:07A matte taupe eyeshadow, because I can double it up as contour, brow filler, and also use it for eyeshadow,
03:12of course.
03:14And concealer, because you can double it up as foundation, and if there's a hot guy on the island, I
03:20want to make sure that I don't have baggy, zombie-looking eyes.
