00:00We've got week eight of the NFL season kicking off here tonight with a good one.
00:05And that is going to be the Green Bay Packers at home on a short week,
00:12coming off a loss to Detroit, in which I'm sure they're smacking themselves.
00:17Pun intended, absolutely, 100%.
00:20And you have Carolina, who basically lost a game in four turnovers
00:27and shot themselves in the foot early in that game against the Tampa Bay Bucs
00:32and just buried themselves too far.
00:34But they did end up outgaining in just about every category offensively
00:40what the Tampa Bay Bucs had there.
00:44So both teams looking to bounce back here tonight, total hovering around 47.
00:50Still seeing three and a halfs in most spots.
00:53But what are we thinking here tonight in Lambeau?
00:57And by the way, both teams still dealing with injuries on the offensive lines.
01:02I, you know, back up to the backup in the center for Green Bay,
01:07two starting guys on the offensive line for Carolina out.
01:12So it's not like that both these teams are a wealth of health here either.
01:17Yeah, so there's, like, I'll talk about later with some props
01:20and some individual plays that I think may be interesting here tonight.
01:25But I looked over this game today and thought, okay, do I want to give a play?
01:30Do I feel comfortable in a play?
01:32Let me take a close look at it.
01:33And I keep coming back to the same data and the same stats,
01:37looking at this from this morning to this afternoon.
01:39I'm going to put Green Bay aside for a minute here.
01:42I want to put them to the side because Green Bay is going to be involved in a close game.
01:46I mean, this is just generally their MO all season.
01:48Either they're winning close or they're losing close.
01:50So we know that's coming.
01:51But the line isn't huge.
01:52It's three, three and a half.
01:54So this is my feeling on Carolina.
01:57Correct me if I'm wrong.
01:59Carolina, for two games this season, has lost, like, 100 to 10
02:06and looked like the best team in the NFC in every other game.
02:09So you tell me, you tell me which team is, because I don't know.
02:15I don't know which team is going to show up tonight.
02:17They got killed by the Bears.
02:19They got crushed by Tampa Bay.
02:23And they look great in every other game they played.
02:25So you want me today to come out and say, oh, you don't take Carolina?
02:28I can't do that.
02:30I can't.
02:30I just, it wouldn't be responsible of me.
02:33I'm still trying to figure out if Carolina is as good as I think they are
02:38because I was, like, really buying in after they went to Philadelphia and won.
02:42Like, by the way, I could take the name away from Philadelphia
02:44and call them any team in the NFL.
02:46I was just so impressed that Carolina was a road favorite, went on the road and won.
02:51I don't know, Joe.
02:52I don't know.
02:53Like we talked about yesterday, the sense I have is one of these,
02:59very similar, by the way, by the way, to the Detroit Green Bay game last week.
03:03I think the same thing happens tonight.
03:05I think it's very close.
03:06Someone's kicking a field goal.
03:09Someone's fumbling at the end of the game.
03:11Like one play really could end up determining this thing.
03:15So I really don't know.
03:17I like to say that Carolina is the plus three and a half and just gets the cover somehow today.
03:24But how could I responsibly do that after they've lost two games by a total of 80 points?
03:29I can't do it.
03:30So I am interested in Chuba Hubbard tonight for Carolina.
03:35I think there's a big bounce back game for him coming.
03:37And I like the over on a lot of his stuff today.
03:39And I think he'll score a touchdown.
03:41He's one of the more underrated running backs in the NFL.
03:43Last game was his worst game in like a year.
03:46And that was because they were way out of the game.
03:48Over on his attempts.
03:49Over on his yards.
03:50I think he scores a touchdown too.
03:52Maybe even ladder on some yards tonight as well.
03:56Very underrated running back I think in the NFL.
03:58So he would be a play for me tonight.
04:01Packers prop wise.
04:02I don't know what you want to do here.
04:03Because Golden is going to play apparently.
04:06But there's not one person that could tell me that he's healthy.
04:09So I don't know what ends up happening with that one Joe.
04:12I know Watson was a huge factor first few games.
04:14Not as much last couple games.
04:16But now with Golden's injury.
04:17I don't know how you want to play it.
04:19But I got to stay away from the receivers.
04:22I, uh, I, it's amazing to me the trends that we've got working in this game, Craig, which
04:29are just mind-numbing.
04:30Uh, it really is.
04:31And you're right.
04:33There is no better Jekyll and Hyde team than Caroline.
04:37To the point, Craig, where it's not just this year.
04:39It's going back since Canales took over.
04:42You know, Carolina is 16 and one against the number in their last 17 games following a
04:48loss.
04:49They're 15 and oh against the number as an underdog.
04:54So does that guarantee anything?
04:57No.
04:57But what it tells me is that whatever, whatever goes wrong, really wrong in these games prior,
05:04especially ones where they shoot themselves in the foot and they lose and it's terrible.
05:10Uh, the next week, a, their youth, the market overreaction has been ridiculous.
05:15That's what it tells me there.
05:17Uh, and nobody gives them any credit.
05:19And then all of a sudden, I mean, you're 15 and oh as an underdog in the next game.
05:25That is just amazing to me.
05:27And again, the only reason they really, the game got away from them early against the
05:31Bucs simply because they lost the turnover minus four in turnovers.
05:35You're not beating anybody in the NFL, but you don't lose by 50.
05:40No, like that, that was crazy.
05:42But again, the Panthers were only out gained by 59 yards in a game in which they lost the
05:47turnover battle minus four.
