00:05Hey everyone, it's Taylor from Refinery29. Ask and you shall receive. Today I'm going to show
00:10you how to do a super cool braided updo. It's always easier to get your braids to do what you
00:14want them to if you have a little bit of texture and grit to your hair. Today I'll be using
00:18the
00:19Got to Be Back to Bed Texture Powder, the Goody Spin Pins, four skinny rubber bands, and the
00:25Sebastian Shaper Hairspray. Starting with the texture powder, you're going to want to pour
00:30a little bit of the product into your hand. Because this comes out like a powder and we
00:34want it more of a liquid, we need to emulsify it by pressing our hands together. I like to
00:41scrunch this into the ends of my hair. You can add a little bit to your roots, but since
00:45my hair gets super oily super quickly, I avoid my roots. Now I'm going to put my hair into
00:51two low ponytails at the base of my neck. You can leave a little out in the front if
00:56you want to add a little bit more dimension to the look.
01:05At this point I like to loosen things up a little bit to give the look a more relaxed feel.
01:11And now we're ready to braid. I'm just putting in regular three strand braids on each side.
01:24The next step is to loosen the braid up. You can do that by just pulling it apart with
01:28your hands. Now I'm going to tie the braids together at the nape of my neck. Depending on
01:34how long your hair is, you might have to weave them into each other more. Because my hair
01:38is a little bit longer, I'll be taking the loose ends and curling one over the top and securing
01:43it. And then one under the bottom side and securing that as well.
01:59For the last step, we're going to secure our updo with a flexible hold hairspray. And there
02:10you have it.
02:11is easy!
