00:11Hi, I'm Paul Cuccinello and we're here at Chris Chase Salon in Chelsea. I'm here with Emory today
00:16and we're going to talk about how to flat iron your hair quickly so you can get a more polished
00:21end result. So here are some of the tools that I would recommend you start to work with before
00:25you flat iron the hair. First you're going to want a heat protectant. This is another
00:31type of heat protectant that will give you some volume reduction. Also after you're finished
00:35doing your flat ironing you might have a couple fly away hairs so I always recommend a finishing
00:40spray to work with at the end. And then you're also going to have a bunch of sectioning clips,
00:45of course a really good quality flat iron. That's the key to everything. So what I love
00:50about the new Remington flat iron is that it has so many of the variables that I look for
00:54in a professional styling tool. It has swiveling plates which is really great because it gives
00:59you a lot of styling versatility. If you want to be able to put a little bit of bend in
01:03the
01:03hair and you're not looking for that super Japanese relaxed or straight look, this tool
01:07will be perfect for that. Another great feature that a lot of people don't pay attention to
01:11is the fact that the plates are slightly recessed from the edge of the tool will prevent you
01:17from burning yourself. So you can get right up against the scalp without burning yourself.
01:21Let's start by evenly distributing the heat protectant in the hair and then we're going
01:25to create four separate sections. We want to start with two front sections. In this case
01:32we'll be using a center part. And then we'll divide the hair at the crown heading down to
01:41right behind the ears. Next you'll work in one inch sections.
01:59So basically just use your fingertips creating tension between the scalp and following with
02:05the flat iron down towards the end of the hair. So you'll do one inch sections at a time starting
02:11in the front. Then I'll suggest you work at the nape of the neck finishing with the hair section at
02:20the crown.
02:22To finish your look I'd suggest working with a light workable hairspray. Just spray it along the part
02:27at the top of your hair and just use it to smooth out and flatten any fly away hairs.
02:32In this case it will not change the ugh workable hairspray to make explain your way your hair fragment more
02:46happening mid- somethin.
02:46So, of course you'll also go to the heat chrome hair to prevent it from making sure all the
