00:10Well, she just proved it. And that is the Trump-DeVos budget cuts $11 billion from public education.
00:20They want to take away 22 programs that help kids K through 12.
00:26They want to take away after school programs, gone. Teacher training, gone. Class size reduction, gone.
00:34School arts programs, gone. Physical education programs, gone. Foreign language programs, gone.
00:42And even the Special Olympics. This is an unbelievable statement of where Trump and DeVos want to take this country.
00:52Oh, and there's more. There's more. The Trump-DeVos budget would totally eliminate public service loan forgiveness.
01:02That's it. Gone. Nothing. They want to slice work study in half. Steal $4 billion from the Pell Grant program.
01:11And here's the one that just is especially awful. They want to roll back the student loan subsidies for low
01:18-income college students.
01:19So what's the plan of DeVos and Trump? It's to make student loans more expensive for the students who have
01:29the most trouble paying them.
01:31They want to make sure that more students stay in debt even longer and pay even more back to the
01:38federal government.
01:39It's up to us. It is up to us to fight back. It is up to us to say no
01:47to these budget cuts. Be clear. You have the power. If you make your voice heard in Washington, then the
01:57Republicans cannot get away with passing a budget like this.
