00:00We live in a town that rewards pretending.
00:06And I had been pretending to be fierce and fearless for a very long time.
00:12You know, going from sexual assault victim to rape survivor,
00:17going through a divorce, having career setbacks,
00:20reexamining why you even are in this business.
00:23Who am I? Who do I want to be to the world?
00:26I don't want to say it's the last time we're going to have that kind of intelligence and grace,
00:32but you exhibit terrible behavior and someone then talks about your terrible behavior.
00:42That's not attacking you, honey.
00:44That's called being accountable for your actions.
00:46What bothered me about the hidden fences thing, you know,
00:49and I made jokes on Twitter as well,
00:51but it's the idea that movies centered in blackness, even subconsciously,
00:58are lumped together as other and marginalized.
01:00I try to inspire myself. Like, look, that was it.
01:04That was some black girl magic.
01:06But I'm surrounded by dope, amazing black women who do magical things daily.
01:10I had my own deflate-gate situation
01:12because everyone's like, what happened to your ass?
01:15I was like, that is months of squats.
01:17Oh, I see. You were accused of letting the air out?
01:22I don't know.
01:23Just got off work.
01:25No makeup.
01:27Head wrap.
01:28Hey, Alicia Keys, I see you.
01:31Hey!
