00:03friend Charles and he also happens to design jewelry. It's called Eight Other
00:07Reasons, so we're gonna go to some of his favorite spots in downtown where he
00:11likes to work and get inspiration. So let's go.
00:21So this is Charles of Eight Other Reasons. He's amazing. So why did you pick out this place?
00:27Because our offices are just located there and I like coming here to People Watch and
00:31kind of just see the LA scene and what people are wearing, what they're doing.
00:35I guess it helps me design, it helps me with the brand and it kind of keeps me
00:39away from I guess the chaos of an office. I've never been the type to work at a
00:44desk so I like to just move around and be able to work in different places and
00:48around people. I think it's really cool to just see people and see what the latest
00:52fashion is while you're designing. It's very insightful.
00:55So I mean I'm sure everyone can tell that you're Australian. Yes. So I mean
01:00why did you choose downtown to move? It was the cheapest. No, no no no. Like I said
01:09downtown's becoming one of those areas where it's like super creative like
01:13there's a lot of fashion down here, there's a lot of showrooms, there's a lot of I
01:17guess creative people around this one's kind of spot here and it makes you feel
01:21like you know you want to be a part of this and it's something that you can
01:25relate to like everybody's in the same kind of I guess boat as you. They're all
01:28doing the exact same thing, they're all designing, they're all selling their
01:33product, they're all networking. So it's one of those environments where you feel
01:36straight away you want to be a part of and when you get here you feel like it's just one
01:39big family. Well I heard that you have a second place that you'd like to go to get inspiration from.
01:46Inspiration and refreshments. I think it's the top. I've got to check, we've got to check it out.

02:30So a little birdie told me that you were an architect?
02:33Yes.
02:34I studied into design and architecture and it's actually helped me a lot in design because
02:39a lot of the pieces in the collection you see they've got like architecture molding references
02:43and the way you design I think across everything, like whether you're an architect, whether
02:48you're an interior designer, whether you're a furniture designer, I think the process of
02:52design is very similar.
02:54Like you start with the concept and you make that come to life.
02:56So I like, I think your showroom is pretty close around here, right?
03:00Our showroom is literally one block that way.
03:02I'd love to take you to show you like the new collection and show you the new stuff from Target.

03:39So white, crisp, fresh.
03:41And then this is the collection, right?
03:42Yes, this is it.
03:43This is what we've been working on for the last four months of my life.
03:47We got approached by Target America to do a commercial line of accessories for them.
03:53It's like, I mean, it's been such a journey being able to design something for pretty much
03:59one of the biggest corporations in the whole world.
04:01Oh yeah.
04:01So like having that in mind and also having our brand aesthetic was something that was really
04:04challenging as a designer, but it was a lot of fun.
04:07Like it's made me come out of my shell quite a lot.
04:10So I mean like, what's your favorite piece out of the bunch?
04:14I love this little piece here.
04:17Yeah.
04:17This is an asymmetric ear cuff.
04:19Gorgeous.
04:20So you've got the ear cuff on one end and then you've got the statement earring there.
04:23And then we've got the handpiece as well.
04:26I love doing the hand chains.
04:27I think it's going to become one of our signature pieces.
04:29But there's also this really beautiful statement piece that's coming in.
04:34I know.
04:35I want you to try on some of the pieces and enjoy them.
04:37Yeah.
