00:03Hi, I'm Allison McNamara. We're going to pin and win at home sugar waxing. So here's what you'll
00:09need. Two cups of sugar, a quarter cup of lemon juice, an eighth cup of water, a pinch of salt,
00:15a whisk, and a saucepan. So I'm a huge fan of sugar waxing. Hot wax is actually not natural
00:21at all. Sugar waxing is 100% natural. You can make it with ingredients you already have at home.
00:27Two big safety tips to keep in mind. One, do not microwave it. And two, always test the temperature
00:35on the inside of your hand before you start, not with your finger. Do not trust these guys. They
00:39lie to you. Safety first. So let's start cooking, shall we? First up, sugar, lemon juice. I squeeze
00:47this myself. Water, and then a pinch of salt. So now we start whisking it all together. Next,
00:55you put your mixture on the stove. And when it comes to a simmer, you turn down the heat
00:59because you want to keep it at that simmer, and you don't want it to overboil. And then
01:03once it starts simmering, it kind of turns like watery. And then you'll start seeing the
01:07colors emerge. Don't let it get too dark though, because then it's just caramel. And voila,
01:11here's your sugar wax. This has been sitting for a couple hours, so it's definitely hard.
01:16So in order to get it a little bit more malleable to wax ourselves, we've got to reheat it just
01:20a little bit. So don't microwave it. You put it in a hot bowl of water. Now that our wax
01:28is more
01:28malleable, it's time to start waxing. Wish me luck. Give it a few seconds to set before you rip
01:39it off. And then kind of nick one side, and then oops. That's just awful. Oh my god, I covered
01:50it
01:50sugar. And now this is kind of hurting, because it is pulling off my hairs. Ow!
01:58Ow! Oh my god! Just f*** it! Go pay someone to wax you! This is not easy!
02:04Do not try this at home. It is impossible.
