00:00You said Quinn Ellis could be the best pure point guard that the Johnnies have had since, who'd you say?
00:06You know, Eric Barkley.
00:07Eric Barkley.
00:07Okay, Eric Barkley, Mark Cook.
00:09Okay, so that's a good one.
00:10You look at his numbers in the preseason, 22 assists, three turnovers.
00:14That kind of speaks to the pure point guard nest that you've said.
00:18How does having that kind of decision maker with Ellis impact what Pitino can get out of this team offensively
00:24this year?
00:25This time of year, you rarely hear Pitino just heap praise on guys.
00:28Even last year with Zuby, he would even sometimes say, well, I want to do this.
00:32Like, he loves Ellis.
00:34They have a ton of guys who want to score.
00:35I mentioned Jackson.
00:36I mentioned Ysufu.
00:38I mentioned Hall.
00:39I do think Ellis needs to look to score a little more because teams are going to play off him
00:42if he doesn't.
00:43And he can shoot.
00:44He's not a great shooter, but he's not a bad shooter.
00:46And I think he needs to be a little more aggressive because if not, you're going to see teams just
00:52kind of playing off of him.
00:53So he's got to be more willing to me to take shots now.
00:57Part of it's the feeling out process.
00:59He's also going to the EuroLeague where he's played with older guys.
01:02So he's used to just deferring.
01:03You don't want him taking the most shots or even the second most shots because they have such good scores.
01:07But I do think there needs to be an element of teams have to play up on him because otherwise,
01:13you know, it's going to make it tough for him to penetrate.
