00:00I identify as queer, androgynous, masculine of center.
00:07I feel like some people feel constrained by labels.
00:10You know, for me to be able to find my tribe, I don't really like the term lesbian.
00:15I don't know why.
00:16Maybe it's like, it feels a little old school to me.
00:19I like queer, it's a wider umbrella I feel.
00:22I like queer because it's just fluid.
00:24I understand why some people wouldn't like that term because it's very like, in that
00:28binary of girl and boy.
00:30But for me, it's being able to play with your masculine energy and your feminine energy
00:36and express that however that may be.
00:38You know, the misgendering happens every day, but one particular time it irked me.
00:43I was at the airport, and I was going to the bathroom.
00:48It smelled like shit.
00:50Someone literally comes up to me and is badgering me that I'm in the wrong bathroom.
00:54Really, you're going out of your way to check me about peeing right before I get on a flight
01:00in this place that smells like shit.
01:01Like, I really don't want to be here.
01:02So that just blew my mind.
01:04I doubted myself because everyone's narrative up to that point was, I knew since I was four,
01:10I was suppressing it, et cetera, et cetera.
01:12I was so raised straight.
01:15I was just like, you know, looking for boyfriends, et cetera.
01:18And it never occurred to me that I could be gay or queer or whatever until, I don't know,
01:24do you guys feel like everyone started being gay like 10, five, 10 years ago?
01:29Like, that's how I feel.
01:31You know, I said I was bi for a little bit.
01:33That's why I like the term androgynous because, you know, it gives me flexibility.
01:40I feel like it's easier to be queer now, obviously, than it was five, 10 years ago.
01:45You know, like, the kids nowadays, they be coming out when they're, like, nine.
01:49I'm like, damn, like, I wasn't even, like, sexually active or have any romantic feelings when I was nine.
01:53The youths these days, not to, like, you know, sound old, but they have, like, this,
02:00a dictionary of words that I never even dreamt of.
02:05And to be able to see something, be like, yo, that's me.
