00:06And I literally woke up one day and was like, oh my god, I'm gay.
00:11Dating a girl was sort of just like an out of reach thing for me until I started talking

00:19I met her on Tumblr.
00:22We would Skype for like 12 hours.
00:25We didn't really get to see each other physically until like four or five months.
00:30I knew I had something good when I found it so I saved up some money and bought a ticket
00:36to go see her.
00:38We were both what we needed at the time.
00:40That was a really formative year for myself personally because I had gotten really, really
00:45sick and I spent all of January in Louisiana with her and she just like took care of me
00:52the entire time.
00:53To have somebody taking care of you when you're at your most like vulnerable self,
01:00it's like invaluable.
01:02We'd been feeling sort of distant from each other and one day she just called me and was
01:06like, we need to talk.
01:08She was just talking about how she was so nervous about, you know, being young and being tied
01:13down and I was like, okay, well, can I come see you?
01:17And flew to New Orleans the next day and we broke up like that was the end of the story.
01:24The first conversation you're like, oh, we'll still talk to each other.
01:28It's still, it's still okay.
01:29You'll still be in my life.
01:31It doesn't pan out like that.
01:32But after I left, I was sad, but I didn't know how to express my feelings.
01:37I just sort of let them marinate.
01:39I ate a lot of chicken wings and listened to a lot of Beach House.
01:44We talk like normal for the longest time.
01:45We talk like we're still very involved with each other's lives and you can't do that when
01:51you break up with someone.
01:52You can't go straight from being in a serious relationship to best friends.
01:56I had to have a talk where I was like, hey, you need a chill.
02:00Now we're okay.
02:01Now we've gone our separate ways.
02:05I wouldn't change anything because if I changed anything, then I wouldn't have learned what
02:09I learned.
02:09It's like the best way to learn about yourself is to be with somebody else.
02:14Don't be afraid to, don't be afraid to fall in love.
02:20That's really cliche, but it's true.
