00:00The other day I came across a video by a nail tech known for working quickly who admitted that
00:04everything is great and awesome but the thing is when it comes to applying the gel polish she gets
00:09stuck and no matter how hard she tries either everything gets ruined or it just takes too much
00:14time. I also read comments saying that when applying colored gel polish not gel but specifically
00:18colored polish on the entire nail most technicians face problems with its application because they
00:23say that when you take a dual form and sculpt a beautiful nail everything is even smooth and
00:29great but as soon as it comes to applying any color lumps immediately start to form. So today
00:36I'll share my experience working with colored gel polishes but first just like in those discussions
00:41we'll sculpt a regular nail using a dual form. Here we took stilettos but my model requested a sharp
00:47almond shape so we decided to use them and then just shorten the length a bit since in her vision
00:51it's not a square shape. A stiletto it's more like an almond shape but the client's wish is low so
00:57we
00:57do exactly as she asks. We ended up with sharp long nails. I'll shape the sides a bit and shorten
01:02the free edge. And now comes that very moment. We have a pretty tricky color which I consider
01:07to be burgundy. Burgundy, blue, black, white, basically any highly pigmented shade which you
01:12need to apply without any mistakes at all. And first I applied this color onto a palette so that
01:17I have the opportunity to pick it up from there with a gel brush. But the brush is special. It's
01:23important
01:23to have the right brush here. It should have long synthetic elastic bristles. In other words this brush
01:28is much longer than regular gel brushes. And it's exactly with this brush that you can apply the
01:33product easily and quickly and most importantly in a thin layer. In my case the color gel polish is
01:38super pigmented so I easily apply it with a gel brush, cure it and then simply go over it with
01:42a
01:42second layer using the brush from the bottle. This way we don't get any extra thickness, we don't ruin
01:47our structure at all and we can easily work using the 4-1 scheme. That is 4 fingers, 4 fingers
01:55and 2
01:56thumbs. And for the design we'll add a little bit of chaos here because Zhenya has already shared her
02:02stash of rainstones with me. She recently went to China and brought back a lot of beautiful and
02:06shiny things. We thought who are we to say no to adding some sparkle to a matte surface. And please
02:12share your tips for applying color gel polish in the comments. Maybe there are some other cool and
02:17useful ways to apply them.
